Merci à tous les organisateurs et à tous les exposants pour cette très belle deuxième edition du festival Sonore ! À l'année prochaine.
Huge thank you to the Sonore festival crew and exposants for this amazing second edition...see you next year !
#WashburnReborn Part 3. Spalted maple drop top installed!.(in hindsight given the thickness of the top,the brittle nature of spalted maple and the forearm bevel, I should have used something different, but I got it to work) you can NEVER have too many clamps!!!
Agent Orange... or as it’s commonly known, Padauk!! This stuff makes me sneeze like crazy.... and makes you look like a giant cheese doodle when you’ve finished sanding!!!😂 Radius jig makes quick work of a custom 16” radius board.
A little fun project. Someone stud on the guitar (don’t leave your guitars flat on the living room floor!!) and pushed the controls through the top, then someone tried to repair it, then someone tried to sand it down and prime it! Yeah, not gonna do that, let’s re-top it and fill the center rout instead! follow along and see how project #WashburnReborn progresses👍
The demo room is alive! Well actually it’s the family room and I hung all the guitars up!!😂😂 . But let’s get serious for a moment. Building pretty looking guitars is pointless if they don’t play or sound right, so it’s good to have real, genuine, musicians come over and just “noodle”, not selling them anything (though you may get beer and dinner, thanks @danalynn333 ), just plugging in and letting rip! So as it happened I had my buddy @randywillcoxmusic come by yesterday and do just that! It’s a good way to get feedback on designs, pick-ups, bridges and extremely fat necks on Telecasters😂 😂 . He did seem to like the “greeny” with the @lustfortone BR’s into the boosted drive channel of the @pierangelomezzabarba MZero🤘
Feedback !!!? I'm considering investing in a vacuum kiln, and I am especially interested in the @vacutherm #idry More importantly, I need to also convince my business partner that it is an intelligent move and wise investment. Being as though we will be drying a large volume of #guitarwood and fine furniture grade figured #bigleafmaple I'm hoping to hear any additional input and feedback as to investing in this technology vs. Traditional dehumidification type kilns. If you have any valuable input, or experience as a #luthier or #guitarmaker please share! As far as I'm concerned, it's a no brainer for quality with speedy turnaround of inventory.
