I am Late for day 3 of #GroundedYogis  #virabhadrasanaII or #warrior2. 
I am in the hills & it was freezing cold at this point but I had to pose here 😬😂! .

While all standing/balancing poses stimulate mooladhara chakra on some level, Warrior 2 is definitely a classic grounding pose. .
.
This pose can look deceivingly easy, but with proper alignment the pose become very demanding, continuously requiring minute adjustments all over the place. And yet, when we tense up, trying to be in control of everything that is happening at the same time, we lose the form. I find Warrior II to be extremely grounding as an exquisite balance between strength and control, and grace and surrender. They all live together in this pose, and you can’t have one without the other.

Likewise, a grounded mindset enables us to see that there’s only so much we can be in control of — the rest must be surrendered and gracefully accepted as it comes.

Welcome to the weekend, and to day 6 of #GroundedYogis 🤗 Do you all have any exciting (or grounding!) plans for the weekend? I haven’t been able to do my practice all week,since I’ve been on the road so much, so I’m leaving in a few minutes to go practice in my studio with one of my students ❤️

Today’s pose is #parivrttajanusirsasana #revolvedheadtokneepose and I can’t hide that this is one of my favorite poses. It’s definitely a toughie, and and intense stretch, and yet when you release it there’s this sense of bliss — as if you were just waking up from a night of deep, restful sleep.

As Julia explained, this pose is a fold, a chest opener, a twist, and a hip opener: all in one! If this is your first time exploring this pose, please grab your toe instead of the whole foot. And if that’s still too much, forget about grabbing the foot, place a block under your lower elbow, and focus on the side extension for starters. (Let me know if you need a tutorial!)

📚Parivrtta janu sirsasana stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, which is in charge of the body’s response while at rest. This results in a restoration of the body’s state of calm, a decrease in heart rate, and the quieting of the mind. This is an amazing posture to unwind at the end of the day of before going to sleep.

🔸Most important pointers:
- Fold from the hips
- Lead with the heart, not the head
- Forget about grabbing your toes if this compromises your form; grab the legs instead and focus on the stretch on the back side of the body

📚Forward folds encourage introspection, the act of surrendering to the breath and to what is, and also, to a certain extent, pratyahara or the withdrawal of the senses. It’s very easy to let the mind slip away in a forward fold as the attention turns inward and our thoughts begin to run wild. Today, make it a point to harness the mind so that you stay present and grounded in your forward fold. You may use different techniques such as focusing on the breath (breathe in/breathe out technique, counting the breath, etc) or reminding yourself that you’re thinking whenever a thought starts to distract you. It was only on the last day I realized how much I've actually learnt, how much people there have actually taught me and how much I'm taking home. Nothing beats experience and it's the people's experiences and stories of their lives that had so much to learn from. The late night conversations with strangers who've now become great friends were so insightful and before I knew, these long late night discussions dissolved into thin air as the dawn broke. Can never forget the hilarious convos that made me laugh till tears rolled down my cheeks.

One thing I realized is that you don't have to be as wise as the old grandmother willow to influence someone or to leave an impact on someone. You just got to be yourself, in your skin and people can still be impacted by the unique flavour you bring in to the planet! .

Something I really took home was the realization that so much of our everyday lives rely on repetitive tasks and skills. Learning something new, regardless of how seemingly minor it is, will refresh our minds and provides us a sense of renewal and inspiration! Felt all the more grounded as I sat alone by the pool side looking at the dawn breaking and the birds chirping when I realized how little we are in the clock of the universe, yet how impactful we can be..... #Grounded

I can say ,It's the best practice to be positive, to be happy and thankful.
Today I came to know how beautiful moments I was missing in my life, because I was too busy in complaining.
I was not enough thankful to people who helped me , pushed me throughout my journey. Who made me what I am today.

I think ,we must prioritize the time to practice gratitude every morning(because you will feel positive throughout the day) or any anytime of the day, no hard or fast rules. .

people around you or things you are grateful for.
Or may be some strangers who just did something good for you, may be help or just offered you something. No boundaries. 
Just remember the good and mean it ,say thank you (if you can). From onwards I am going to implement this exercise in my daily routine.

📚Pranayama or breathing techniques can also be amazingly grounding, take a moment to practice deep belly breaths or ujjayi (if it’s in your practice) anytime through the day when you’re feeling a bit anxious or scattered. Anuloma viloma or alternate nostril breathing also work wonders ☺️

For day 4 of #GroundedYogis we bring you #pigeonpose — you can take any variation that feels grounding to you; which means you should be able to hold and comfortably breathe in the pose. If you’re going for the King Pigeon variation and you can’t take at least 5 comfortable breaths in there, are too uncomfortable or in pain, or simply snap out of the pose, you’re doing the opposite of grounding, so please take that into account.

Because this pose is such a classic, too, I decided to change things up and show you how to use a bolster to support your hips. There are different ways in which you can support yourself in this pose, another option is to place a bolster in front, fold forward and lay on it. However I notice a common thing with pigeon is people not being able to sit all the way down on their front hip, which leaves them floating and unstable, so if this is your case, feel free to add a block, cushion or a bolster like I do in the picture. Find stability in the pose, and breath into it. How does it feel?

Today is day 3 of #GroundedYogis and we bring you #virabhadrasanaII or #warrior2. While all standing/balancing poses stimulate mooladhara chakra on some level, Warrior 2 is definitely a classic grounding pose. .
.
This pose can look deceivingly easy, but with proper alignment the pose become very demanding, continuously requiring minute adjustments all over the place. And yet, when we tense up, trying to be in control of everything that is happening at the same time, we lose the form. I find Warrior II to be extremely grounding as an exquisite balance between strength and control, and grace and surrender. They all live together in this pose, and you can’t have one without the other.

Likewise, a grounded mindset enables us to see that there’s only so much we can be in control of — the rest must be surrendered and gracefully accepted as it comes.

If you have a meditation practice, you can do chakra specific meditations, in this case bringing the focus onto the Root chakra and chanting its seed mantra {LAM} either verbally or mentally. You can also mentally repeat this mantra in any of the poses of this challenge, and any other pose with a targeted focus on Mooladhara. Another powerful mantra that may help you find your center and ground is {SO HAM} (I am).
