Burial monument, cenotaph in honor of Menekratis, consul of Corfu in Oanithia, (a city near to Galaxidi). It has an inscription according to which the municipality, recognizing his deeds, raised this monument . The inscription in the Corinthian alphabet and dates back to 600 BC- it is one of the oldest Greek inscriptions remaining. Similarly, the architectural type of the hollow is placed chronologically at 570/540 BC. The monument was came into light in 1843 during the British domination of Corfu.
