Members of the Volunteer Park Board met today to discuss future additions and continuing improvements to the park.
Volunteer Park is home to an inclusive playground facility that is accessible for children of all ages and abilities. The park is a nice walk from downtown Selah.
Selah Downtown Association is proud to have been a community sponsor of this park. As you walk into the playground area, you will notice bricks lining the pathway. Look closely, and you will spot our logo on one of these sponsored bricks.
There are still opportunities to support this playground and the park facility as the area continues to be developed. We would be happy to help put you in contact with the Park Manager with the City of Selah. Email us at email@example.com for more information.

Zuki tells me they got piped water, electricity, and cement walls only in the early nineties. Until then, they lived in houses made from wooden frames and mud mortar topped with tin roofs. Informal settlements, aka townships or locations, were transformed by the post-apartheid government's reconstruction and development programme that allotted land, services, and houses to the people.
The execution of this programme did not include public green spaces or home gardens. Although most townships bear this stark contrast to well greened affluent (white) neighbourhoods, the government is now implementing post hoc plantings in these areas. A few of the officials I have spoken to mention that indigenous and fruit species are commonly requested and supplied for township plantings, another avenue for me to target. Meanwhile, here is another popular species in both poor and wealthy households.
Wishing I could spend my day wandering the New York Botanical Garden instead of getting fingerprinted and doing homework. This gorgeous garden picture will have to hold me over for today. 🌿🌼 What's your happy place? This is one of mine and my bed is probably the other 😂
