two sunflowers fell down so I put all the heads in jars to finish blooming, as you can see- at 13ft tall with 10+ heads a flower, it's difficult to keep em standing🌻🌱 but dang thank you @sunnymama7 for the delightful challenge👐💚 #greenliving#grow#sunny#sunflowers#humboldt
Meet Bryan Jans.
This amazing entrepreneur has created quite a unique venture a few years ago.
BUFFALO FARMING!! 🐃🐃
Bryan started with just a handful of buffaloes that he transported down to Giffard West in Gippsland from the Northern Territory.
Over a few years he has slowly increased his herd from breeding them on his farm.
He now runs over 70 head of buffalo and milks them every day.
He supplies @berryscreek_cheese with the high fat creamy milk and they produce amazing award winning cheeses.
Lucky me, gets to be the only Soap Maker in Victoria (if not Australia) that has access to this gorgeous milk to make soaps with.
Have you tried these soaps yet?
This is #eastgippslandsbest
A good salad dressing is deceptively simple. But the incredible flavour it can bring gives it a value way beyond the sum of its parts! With so many Canadians cutting back on meat, the time is right to uncap your special blend. Let us help you catch some tasty lightning in a bottle! ⚡️
We’ve gone back and forth between wanting an early to mid-1900s home and wanting a modern tiny home. I love the idea of living small and reducing our footprint, so a tiny home makes sense in a lot of ways. But... I love the character and detail an old home often has. Phone nooks, for instance, are one of my must-haves if we decide against a tiny home. Our current apartment has one and it was one of the selling points of moving here. It’s such a small detail, but I think it adds a little something special to a space. If you could choose, would you go with a vintage home or modern tiny?
Welcome back to Face Mask Monday! We are starting this week off with a refreshing mango face mask. It’s pretty much always hot here in Orlando, but technically summer is almost over so we thought we would mix up something tropical. We combined mango, turmeric and olive oil to make a fantastic mask that can help calm breakouts and fight acne while moisturizing your skin. Try it out and let us know what you think!
(1) large slice mango (1) tsp turmeric (2) tsp olive oil
Apply and let dry *Voila* gorgeous skin!
Earth Girl tip** if you leave the mask on too long the turmeric may stain. If this happens you can easily clean it off with coconut oil. 😀
“We really worked on creating our own supply chain and owning the product,” explains Gabe, who says their farmers use ladybugs to keep the plants healthy. “And so what people experience with Plant People is not replicated anywhere else. We really put a lot of time around creating formulations with a focus on quality ingredients, quality plant matter, and quality extractions.” — because where your CBD comes from matters 🌱 @gabe_kennedy in @missgrass_ #plantpeople
Just like we meet people that were "meant to be", skincare could be a perfect match too. I think I have finally met mine 💙 .
I've heard many great things about @luvalla, but only recently had an opportunity to try it for myself. Beautiful Alla, the founder of @luvalla, sent me combo to oily line (cleanser, toner, serum, eye and face creams), and I fell in love with all five products, and here is why:
Alla's creations are 100% natural, and it is not just a pretty label - the formulas are crafted using real natural and organic ingredients. .
The formulas are potent and incredibly effective - you can see the difference in your skin almost instantly.
The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and uses minimum amount of plastic (toners, serums, and cleansers are packaged in beautiful blue glass - more on this in a later post!).
Your skin will fall in love with this products, they are simply amazing! My skin has been feeling and looking beautiful - clear, radiant, hydrated, and glowing 👸 I feel like my skin can "breathe" when I use these products - they are non-heavy and quick absorbing.
In today's post, I will focus on the moisturizers:
🌿Balancing Day/Night Cream - formulated using Thyme, Clove Flower, and Cinnamon Bark, helps prevent breakouts and balance skin without drying, provides matte finish, and has beautiful light texture and scent.
🌿 Anti wrinkle Eye/Lip Cream - delicate, firming, soothing, and deeply nourishing.
Both creams are formulated using Argan Oil, which is rich in antioxidants and helps regenerate skin and ensure bright and youthful looking complexion.
If you are not familiar with @luvalla, please check them out and give them a follow. Their page is gorgeous and full of positivity. All products are vegan and cruelty free. They are 100% natural, organic, and sustainable.
I really, truly believe this.

Hey there changemaker! 👋❤ •
No need for grand gestures or heroic actions in order to be an everyday hero and part of a positive change ✌ Small acts matter, so let's respect our mother 🌎 & each other and make some good ones! We got this. •
Step one in moving towards a zero waste kitchen? Replace paper towels with cotton bar rags. I tried many different options starting with quarter cut baby receiving blankets left over from my babies. Once those wore out (years later), I tried a couple different ones off amazon. Unfortunately, none of those lasted very long. But these Ones from Target Home (pictured) are my favorites. $4 for 6. They come in different colors but I prefer white so I can bleach or peroxide them when needed. •
I still keep a roll of paper towels under my kitchen sink for big disgusting messes that would ruin my cloth. This is by far the easiest wasteful habit to break. Give it a try! •
What was your first zero waste swap?
Confession: I LOVE MONDAYS! It’s true. Maybe it’s because I’m not going to a 9-5 job anymore (or more like 6:30-3:30, am I right? 😂 #teacherlife ), but Monday’s are actually my FAVORITE day of the week! I love the freedom of planning out my week, setting #goals and organizing my home and life. I’m in charge of my time and I get to decide what to do with it! .
So this week I have a few goals in mind and one of them is to start working on my home office. Right now it has some halfway unpacked boxes and a desk. 🤦🏼♀️ It’s a disaster to say the least. Part of creating my home office entails organizing my oils like @fancythingsblog. How cute is this? 😍 #officegoals .
How do you organize your home office? .

So I have finally switched to a shampoo bar! It’s taken time because I wasn’t sure where to look and I was going to use Lush but after finding out they are using palm oil in their products I needed to look elsewhere. Then along came @conchuslife! 🌱⠀
I was really REALLY dubious about putting soap on my hair. Recently I’ve had a problem where my hair was super static all the time no matter what product I used and the only thing that could help was a Lush shampoo. But I thought I’d give it a go as I really wanted to go plastic free! ⠀
I chose the swell shampoo bar and although optional, i chose the halo rinse to finish off with as my hair can be quite wild and frizzy! The halo rinse is kinda like an apple cider vinegar rinse - without the vinegar! 👌🏻 It took some getting used to, having to get a lather up with the bar and then transferring it to my head - but the more water you add - the more lather you get! ⠀
I had read some people can get a grease build up after switching to shampoo bars but I honestly had no problems! My hair felt lovely and clean and soft and I had no problem styling it! The one thing you’ll notice when you switch is that your hair won’t have a lingering perfume, but that’s probably for the best! ⠀
I can’t wait to wash my hair again and hopefully get into the knack of building a lather up quickly! ⠀
Have you made the switch to a shampoo bar? How do you find it? - Laura⠀
Some of you know my son has skin issues 😔 It’s been a constant struggle to pin point what is going on. Here’s what we know:
+ Heat, dry weather and dirt trigger outbreaks
+ Stress, disappoints and worry intensify issues
+ Certain foods and dyes make things worse too
Here’s how we help:
💕 Soothing oils in an Epsom salt bath at the end of a hard day
💕 Soothing oils in coconut oil for prevention 💕 Taking a quality kids probiotic like DōTERRA’s PB Assist
I’ll send the complete video on getting started with these- when you’re ready to begin. .
If you aren’t working with a dōTERRA rep yet you can pick them up at the link in my bio. 💜Select “become a member” 💜 enter your info 💜 choose a kit (saves the 35 fee and is cheaper than getting individual bottles) Or add the 35 dollar welcome kit and choose a la carte .
I’ll get you set up with your special welcome supplies from me, education and add you to our community.
Just finished up lunch with the boys and the only thing I reach for to wipe down the high chair is Thieves Spray because they eat off of this surface... there should be no chemicals touching their tiny little hands or their food during their next meal 🙅🏾♀️ .
Where can you use Thieves Spray? Great for high chairs, grocery carts instead of the nasty wipes they offer at the store, door knobs, airplane trays, public restrooms, yucky school supplies, dirty cell phones, tv remotes, and toys! .
No carcinogens, no endocrine disrupters, no respiratory irritants, no synthetic ingredients, disinfects AND supports our immune systems- that’s something I can get behind! Added bonus: smells like Christmas in a bottle and well that’s magical, friends 🎄✨
did you know that fast fashion is a large contributor to various forms of pollution and waste? it’s also a hotbed for exploitive labor practices. that’s why i support ethical fashion brands. brands that know where their materials are sourced from, give back to local communities, pay fair wages, and make products with sustainable materials.
👗the dress i’m wearing is from Madewell, which is not an eco brand by any means but i have worn this dress countless times since having it in my closet for over a year. (i haven’t purchased anything from Madewell since after this dress.)
😎my @raen sunglasses were handcrafted ethically in China.
👟the gold leather @veja sneakers are made from organic and eco-friendly materials – sources from fair trade family run farms in Brazil. Veja shoes are made with organic cotton, wild rubber from the Amazon, and vegetable-tanned leather.
mixed this ‘please no creepy crawlers in my kids hair’ spray today for a smart mom friend and then I filled up one for us too 😬🚫🐛
•10 drops tea tree
•5 geranium •5 lavender •a squirt of coconut oil and fill with water OR mix some good clean leave in conditioner with a bit of water and oils. G’s hair is a little wild so I will spray the water based one on in the morning to help tame and brush and use the conditioner one at night after baths.

One of my absolute FAVORITE brands of nail polish is @zoyanailpolish. It is a vegan, cruelty free, non toxic line that is safe on the skin, yes nails are skin, and safe to inhale. I checked with @environmentalworkinggroup and this polish is very low hazard. I love changing my polish frequently because the spectrum of light they give off make me happy and reflect my personality/mood 🖤🌼💅🏽🌼
Body butter 😍 As my bottled products run out, I’m experimenting with different recipes I come across to replace them. My aim is to have almost no commercial products left in the house by the end of the year. Apart from essential oils and other staples to make my own. I made this batch of body butter over the weekend and I LOVE it. I found the recipe on #biomestores blog but I’ve simplified it as their recipe takes a few days and I couldn’t source all the ingredients locally. If you want to try the original recipe head over to their page. They have heaps of great recipes to make your own products and if you find any of the ingredients hard to source locally they sell them on their online store. It’s super easy to make, you just need a few ingredients and a hand mixer. You’ll need 1/2 cup Shea butter, 1/4 cup coconut oil, 3 tbsp apricot oil, 15 drops (or less for more subtle scent) of rose geranium essential oil (geranium oil is the same thing), 6 drops lavender essential oil, 1 tsp arrowroot, 1 tsp pink clay (optional as this can be hard to source). Place the Shea butter and coconut oil, I’ve used @pacificorganics into a glass mixing bowl and beat with the mixer until it’s light and fluffy. This won’t take long. Add the apricot oils, arrowroot, clay and essential oils and beat again, on a low, increasing to high speed until it’s all combined. Then it’s done! Pop into clean jars. This makes one small jar. As there aren’t any preservatives you need to keep away from sunlight and use within a few months. All of these ingredients can be found at a health food shop or a good organic bulk store 🥥 🌸 I promise you it will be the most incredible thing you’ve smelt in ages. And it feels divine too. #olivehealthfoodsalbury#naturalproducts#naturalbeautyproducts#naturalbodycream#rosegeranium#essentialoils#doterra#doterraessentialoils#toxicfreeliving#toxicfreehome#sustainableliving#ecofriendly#greenliving
Let’s face it, we don’t all have the time or inclination to make our own products from scratch. It’s absolutely not about being perfect. It’s about doing the best you can, or even just a few things to minimise your impact. Everything helps and it doesn’t have to be all or nothing. And the reality is, even for someone who does love to make things themselves, it’s not always easy just yet to source all the ingredients locally. I still need to source some of my ingredients online, which isn’t ideal. In the meantime, there are still heaps of zero or low waste options. Unpackaged natural soaps such as these. We have a great local producer @back_to_earth_soaps. She makes these beautiful shampoo bars (pictured at the front). I find as they are naturally based they do dissolve quickly so I usually cut them up into more manageable pieces before using. Bath bombs @lush_ausnz are a great alternative to bubble bath for kids (or you can make your own with essential oils). Low waste options are refilling your staples like liquid hand soap or washing up liquid at a bulk store. Places like @lush_ausnz give you incentives to bring back containers. No pong is a non plastic option for deodorant. I’ve tried countless versions over the last few years. @nopong.deodorant is by far the best I’ve found. You will still sweat a little on a hot day but without the odour. And when you’re done you can reuse the tin 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 #saynotoplastic#lushcosmetics#nopong#saynotowaste#reducereuserecycle#naturalliving#healthylifestyle#savetheplanet#lushcosmetics#nontoxicbeauty#nontoxicliving#healthyliving#essentialoils#naturalsoap#naturalshampoo#shampoobars#bathbombs#ecofriendlyliving#sustainableliving#greenliving
So I read an article on ABC.net.au this morning about a Tassie couple who haven’t put out their kerbside bins for THREE years. Wow!! That’s impressive. From a personal perspective I find that inspiring but also scary to think how much more I could and should be doing when there are people who can achieve that. Whilst I have very little landfill waste, we do have a fairly decent amount of ‘recycling’. The infrastructure and associated costs and energy involved in waste removal and recycling are significant. We all know the recent debate about recycling in Australia, including the shipping of recycling elsewhere to be processed which is ridiculous and counter productive. This couple proposes that there should be financial incentives for those who produce less waste (eg release from paying the council levies associated with their kerbside bins). I agree. Why should those who are less burden to the system subsidise those who don’t care? What do you think? 🤔I definitely think a financial incentive would help motivate people who may not otherwise be inclined...I know it would motivate me. #halvewaste#saynotoplastic#zerowaste#reducereuserecycle#saynotoplastic#zerowastelife#landfill#recycling#reduce#reuse#sustainableliving#ecofriendly#greenliving
Simple swap or habitual change? What do you think?? For me this was a simple swap. But seeing some of the public resistance over the big supermarkets transitioning from plastic bags maybe it’s not easy for everyone. And that’s totally ok. But it’s about making it easier for yourself to make the changes. Most people say they just forget their bags. It’s that simple. For me, it’s just about organisation. I always keep my reusable bags in my car. As soon as they are unpacked I take them back to my boot. In one of the bags I keep all my mesh produce bags and these great bread (or for whatever!) cloth bags which I took to @bakersdelight , plus a few containers for things like takeaway (like sushi 🍣 I bought this morning!) This way you’re never caught out. And it’s easy! When you’re buying things like sushi, it’s the little things, hold the soy (as cute as those little soy sauce fish are they’re not so good for the real fish 🐟 in the ocean). I have a bottle of soy sauce at home that I can refill at my local bulk store. If you are eating out you can refill your own little container to take. Or have a little screw top container with you and ask them to fill from their large bottles in stores. No store has ever said no when I’ve asked. Wasabi paste can be bought as a powder in a small tin and made up into a paste. 😋 #borderjustfoods#halvewaste#albury#zerowaste#towardszerowaste#sushi#soysauce#bread#reusablebags#sustainableliving#ecofriendlyliving#greenliving
Hello My Beautiful Online Family! 💙💙💙
I wanted to take this moment to introduce myself, and let you know why I’m here and how I want to serve you!
My name is Kelcy and I’m 28 years YOUNG! 😉 I became a first-time mama in November 2017 and am raising my beautiful son, Owen!
I love snuggling animals, binging on tasty food and I don’t even know how many times I’ve seen The Office on Netflix! Although I try to keep my life pretty balanced, I definitely believe in enjoying life and doing things that you LOVE!
I hope to be a positive influence on your feed, and I love encouraging others! You will often find me posting funny or inspiring memes, but my main focus is sharing my love for toxin-free living and Young Living essential oils!
After having my son, I got a huge wake up call to the importance of using safe products, and how not doing that can affect our hormones and endocrine systems. I developed PPD after having my son, and since then have dedicated my time and energy to helping ease my struggle, and that of others as well!
I believe every person deserves to live a happy, healthy, and well-functioning life, and if you aren’t, I am here to help you!
I practice toxin-free living and have replaced my old, toxic products with Young Living oils and oil-infused products! Plants are so powerful, and it’s amazing to see the physical and mental transformations that can happen when they are used safely and consistently.
So whatever you are needing extra support with, whether mentally or physically, please reach out with any questions you have! I would love to link arms and help you start your toxin-free journey!
