Finished up this beautiful Green Egg Table with @efieck this past weekend and couldn’t be happier with how it turned out! The table was delivered to his father’s house yesterday and we mounted the grill to complete the project! It is made out of 100% cedar, and finished with a Cabot Australian Timber Oil Natural Stain. I had a blast creating this with Eric and as with every project, I learned a ton which keeps me coming back for more! Also, wanted to thank @buckwoodcrafts for the assist with jointing the table top and coming over to hand plane it to a nice smooth finish. #kregjig#greenegggrill#grilltable#grilling#greenegg#titebond3#cabotstain#woodworking#woodworker
When my dad and I get together we don’t mess around.
I started off with 6 pork steaks that are cut about 1 inch thick and seasoned them heavily with dry rub and other spices then moved them to the grill to get a nice crust, not to cook them all the way through.
Moving on to the swine bath, I used 2 beers, red wine vinegar, mustard, 2 bottles of bbq sauce, spices, jalapeno juice and added peppers and onions to the bath. Once the pork steaks were in the bath I moved it back to the grill/smoker to cook low and slow in its sauna for about 4 hours. (They literally fall apart and right off the bone).
My dad whipped up some vinegar beans and I made some cheddar jalapeño cornbread in the cast iron skillet, and we cheated and got mac and cheese from Ms. Kims ❤️
I couldn’t have done it without my lovely assistant micromanaging along the way
