Grave 484 - Christian Wulff, Navel Officer
"Life itself is the most wonderful fairy tale." - Hans Christian Andersen - Friend of Christian Wulff (1810-1856)
Christian Wulff was a Danish navel officer and friend of the writer Hans Christian Andersen.
Fun Fact: According to the Beaufort Historical Association, a block of stone was sent from Denmark by Captain Christian Wulff's sister to be used for his marker after his untimely death in Beaufort from yellow fever. The sister left Copenhagen on the ‘Austria' to gaze upon his grave but had a bit of bad luck herself as the ship caught fire and burned at sea where she also died.
