Me & Dad strolling through the grapevines 💜
I am so grateful to my dad. Through him I have learned to approach life with humour, to seek adventure, to connect to nature, to nurture our creative gifts, to be willing to work hard, to balance that with rest, play, or a good ramble. To trust that God always provides and that our prayers are said, heard and answered everywhere. To be willing to trust in others (I have lost count of how many hitch hikers, transient workers, and other people in need ended up in our cars or our home over the years). To honour our inner child as it knows our true calling (he knew his calling to carve at the age of 6).
I remember a day 6 years ago, when I needed to to share my medical intuitive gifts and connection to angels with someone. I blurted it out to my dad over a cup of coffee. I was willing to risk being judged, or disbelieved. Instead, my Dad said something to me that I bring with me everyday to help me on this health journey with spirit “Your gifts are God given. Just like my skills of carving, you must use them and practice. “
Such a simple thing to say, but it’s wisdom has kept me focused on honouring my gifts, and helped me to feel accepted. Being myself has been one of the hardest things for me to do, and is still a work in progress, honing my skills and trying to have courage.
That is what I am most grateful to my dad for, always feeling like I could just be myself, and that was always enough. 💫
Love you so much dad!
Today, we celebrate the fathers in our lives, including our father-son growers Robert + Nathan Goltz who put their heart + soul into managing our Sandhill Estate, Vanessa and Osprey Ridge Vineyards. #sandhillwines
