Last weekend I visited @hellenvanmeene exhibition in @huismarseille ‘and everything goes on when you die’ (en alles blijft bestaan wanneer je sterft). I noticed I didn’t took any picture about the exhibition itself but this one, looking from one of the windows. A loss for me is an intimate thing. I don’t talk about that to everyone and it took me almost 20 year to elaborate the most important mourning I had. I’d like to thank @hellenvanmeene because her pictures show exactly the feeling you have: everything goes on, everything is always the same but completely different and day by day you get use to it and you learn that you can be happy again, you can laugh again, that your life goes on anyway. The exhibition is available till Dec. 2nd: don’t miss it!
Other than #bicycles#amsterdam is defined by #windows - the traditional open and direct nature of the #Dutch infuses the centuries old custom of #windows into #Dutch homes which are often beautifully displayed but also invariably unveiled - saying to the passerby ‘ we have nothing to hide’ an at once welcoming and disarming national character as explained to me by my excellent @waldorfastoria @waldorfams guide Helen who took me on a walking tour last week #grachtengordel#amsterdam#amsterdam 🇳🇱 #netherlands
