Throwback to this farm near my old hometown. Fock this current town. I don't miss the old house, but cruisin' through rural parts of the old country roads was better than this current shithole. Anyway here's a nice photo from my pumpkin picking a year ago. 🎃
Spotted a guy at the market last week making and selling thunder drum gourds.. My oldest fell in love and said she wanted to learn how.
I remembered that the local Arboretum had a class from 9-1 today .. so I reserved a spot for our oldest. The Mr. wasn't cool with my idea to "leave" our oldest there, but I felt like she would do great and she did. I dropped her off early today, and she spent almost 5 hours with wonderful staff at the Arboretum .. when I picked her up she had completed this gorgeous Thunder Drum Gourd that she made, painted (leather dye) and designed herself with a wood burning tool.
They gave her a few extra pieces that she could finish at home herself later on, too. Rad stuff. 👏 Such a great learning experience, and she's absolutely thrilled to pieces that she learned something that most people will prob never get the opportunity to do. So thankful for the staff at the Arboretum.. they are quite amazing. ✨
