A little tribute to the great gothic soap opera Dark Shadows! When I was 19 I moved from Alabama to Las Vegas leaving behind my grandparents who I was (am) very close. One thing I did to help me feel close to them (really Grandma) was to watch this show that was re- airing again after years of being off TV. Every day it came on we would watch it and then I'd call her and we'd talk about. It was a little something fun that we will always share and I'll forever love this show for it. 🖤🦇
Halloween Countdown, Day 60 🎃🎃🎃
In this horror comedy based on the gothic soap opera of the same name, we meet Barnabus Collins, a vampire who was buried alive and has awakened after 196 years to returned to his former home of Collinwood to find things have greatly changed. Barnabus was a healthy, charming young man in 1776 when his family moved from Liverpool to Collinsport, Maine. He then met a young woman named Angelique who fell in love with him but he did not return her affections. His heart belonged to a beautiful young woman named Josette du Pres which of course made Angelique furious. Being a witch, she placed a curse on the Collins family and especially Barnabus: that he would be immortal. Now after 196 years of waiting, will he be reunited with his love or his enemy. Wrap it all up with Tim Burton and you have got yourself a wacky ode to the 1960's cult classic. "I'm going to make an offer to you, Barnabus. My last. You can join me by my side and we can run Collinsport together as partners...and lovers. Or I'll put you back in the box."
"When did they start allowing women of the night on the estate grounds?"
"Fifteen and no husband. You must put those birthing hips to good use at once lest your womb shrivel up and die."
"What sorcery is this? Reveal yourself, tiny songstress."
"He said his name is Barnabus Collins. And I'm pretty sure he called me a hooker."
"Madame, I am neither good nor gentle. And I do not forgive."
