Mergansers are some of the most skittish ducks I have ever photographed. They take a lot of time and patience. You have to hide in the weeds for what seems like an eternity. All for them to fly through at 120 mph and get a memory card full of out of focus images. This guy here was keeping a close eye on me, but was just curious enough to hang around for a couple close ups! Thanks for looking!!!
Thanks to a great partnership with @ducksunlimitedinc, @azgfd and the Friends of Cibola NWR, we had a successful youth camp! Thank you to all of the sponsors and mentors who helped make this event so much fun! These kids are the future of hunting and conservation.
It never ceases to amaze me how much duck dogs love to retrieve ducks. They would literally work themselves into the ground, before they gave up on a retrieve. This is Quade he is my best friend and favorite 4 legged hunting buddy. The bond between a man and his dog is unbreakable. This photo proves dogs are mans best friend and loyal to a fault!
When Canada Geese know where they want to feed, nothing will stand in their way! Wish I could have been closer though. I took this from about 200 yards away. A true testament to today’s camera gear. These geese are out for a evening feed and with a gorgeous sunset to my back, they had a cool red glare off their feathers! Enjoy!
Testing out a new camera. Still getting it figured out, but this shot of some hunkered down honkers hiding from the wind turned out. Lots more to come as wildlife photography is in full swing here in NW Missouri. Have a great week everyone!!!!
