“Nancy, why do you like to thrift shop?” Is a question I get asked often. I’m not going to lie, years ago it used to make me feel uncomfortable. Now I embrace it and just do my thang! I thrift shop for several reasons. Like for one it’s eco-friendly. I save money, and my favorite one of all I love going on the hunt for quality and unique items!!! Can’t stand none of this polyester and plastic stuff! This girl likes, silks, cashmere, fine china, brass, silver & hardwood furnishings!! I’m cheap but I ain’t cheap if you know what I mean 😉. Do you like thrift shopping?
Finally getting things settled in and the pieces are coming together. The tv is actually on my awesome coffee table from @arhaus and when we upgrade to the larger 📺 tv it will be on the wall and my coffee table can return to its job. The mantle came together by accident. While I was moving I had nowhere to put some of my glass decor items and rather than having Hagrid knock it over it went on the mantle for temporary purposes...but now I like it so it will stay there until I get bored with it and rearrange it. I am probably most proud of those ginormous brass candlesticks I scored at a church rummage sale. My mom gifted me the candles and of course my bingo that Mark bought me for Christmas made a cameo appearance. The white bowl candle and the beautiful black wicker tray are from the opal house line from @Target but I got them for a steal at my favorite bargain store @ilovedirtcheap. My rug was a great score from our family friend’s furniture auction @greg_majors_auctions. It’s my favorite color and has been sort of the inspiration for everything else to fall into place. The downstairs is mostly complete minus the dining area and the powder room. #thrifty#thriftstorefinds#thrifting#junkin#goodwillfinds#dirtcheap#dirtcheapfinds#targetclearance#mantledecor#arhaus#boholuxe#bohemianstyle#dominodecor#townhome#thewoodlandstexas#bohodecor#rummagesalefinds
Any other resellers out there have the hardest time not keeping EVERYTHING for yourself? Too bad I don’t have a single spot let in my cabinets for these vintage looking cups o’ coffee. They’re so cute.

Every day wear ✔ Active wear ✔ I may not find much at each store, but @goodwillintl is pulling my wardrobe together quite nicely. I am able to keep more 💰 in my account by #thriftshopping . It requires patience, for sure, but when I find pieces that I LOVE, it's worth it. Have I convinced you to get to your local #Goodwill yet? 😀 Still haven't found that book though. 😂
This hanging light was probably my most fun DIY project. I had been looking at lights like this online, but couldn't find anything cheaper than $50. One day, I happened to find a three-tiered wire hanging fruit basket at Goodwill and with a little help from some wire cutters, I was able to recreate the same thing for under $10! The hanging light we found at IKEA, and I used the bottom basket on the tier because it was the biggest. I just cut a small hole in the bottom, slipped the light bulb part through, and ta-da! I had myself a hanging light.
