Hi Inklings! I am Cat and I’m an author living near Austin, Texas. I just published my first novel, The Orphan’s Code, and I’ve been having fun taking creative pictures to show it off! .
I’d love to be a rep, all your items are so beautiful and colorful and I just love them. I think I could create some very beautiful photos with them! I certainly can’t wait to try. .
I love nature photos (as you can see), and my best argument for why I would make a good rep is that I am definitely the only applicant with a bearded dragon! He’s extremely cute and photogenic and he’ll be done hibernating any day now. .
Please flip through my photos here for examples of my work (and readers, have fun - the last one is brand new!) Thanks for the opportunity!

In his book, Rosling suggests the vast majority of human beings are wrong about the state of the world. He believes his test subjects think the world is poorer, less healthy, and more dangerous than it is. Rosling recommends thinking about the world as divided into four levels based on income brackets. He suggests ten instincts that prevent us from seeing real progress in the world. These are listed as Gap, Negativity, Straight Line, Fear, Size, Generalization, Destiny, Single, Blame, and Urgency.
This series is definitely going on my TBR list!! I loved fairytales growing up and can’t wait to see how these compare! #herbookishescape

So how‘s life, being a mother of 3? Honestly, I have not truly settled down. But then again, I doubt any mother ever will. There’s always 1001 things on the list. The list never ends. So, here’s a book that teaches me to be more ‘sloth’ in my mothering skills. To stop every once in a while and live in the moment.
I remember the times when my daughter wanted to sit on my lap and read a book with me. "Yes, I had other things to do. But I said to myself, 'How long will this last?' I'm grateful for that time with her."
Rushing through, we miss so much, and we don’t always perform our best. So, to all mothers, it helps to take the slow lane and truly see what matter most. Get enough sleep, go with the flow, savour the moment, and #bemoresloth ♥️
I started reading Bad Blood, coincidentally, at the blood bank. It was my third attempt at giving blood recently and maybe it was the book’s influence, but they finally got some blood out of me. I got a message a few weeks later telling me that my blood had been used to help someone at a hospital in Queensland.
The story of Theranos is wild, and Carreyrou’s retelling is incredibly compelling. I was so hooked on this book. The kobo will always tell me how long I have left to read, and I didn’t realise the notes at the end were so long, so I thought I still had chapters to go. I was unreasonably devastated when it ended.
I love a wild workplace story. Theranos seemed like one of the wildest. It’s staggering how many big names were complicit in this tale of fraud. There are a lot of characters in the book, and Carreyrou treats them with utmost respect. His writing is approachable and straightforward, which really lets the insanity of Theranos shine through.
@alexbracken I thought it would be good to start of my first post by introducing my favourite book if all time "In The Afterlight" By Alexandra Bracken. This is part of the Darkest Minds trilogy, which is my favourite book series ever!! Along with the trilogy there is "Through The Dark," which is a set of novellas and "The Darkest Legacy". If you haven't read this series I strongly recommend you do! #goodreads#thedarkestminds#intheafterlight#Ruby#Liamstewart#suzume#chubs#bookworm
Did you read #TheCursedChild ? I read it back when it first got released. Well, that was a letdown... It felt like I was reading a mix of soap opera storylines with a little Harry Potter added to it. I seriously (sorry, won't make a Sirius-pun 😉) wanted to throw the book across the room. That only happened to me once before; with Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer.
Now, I didn't see the play. So maybe the cast's work is really good, although I doubt you can take yourself seriously with a script like this.
Anyway, what did you think of #HarryPotterandTheCursedChild ? Sorry if I seem harsh.

You're sitting outside a coffee shop with a friend when you get that someone's-looking-at-you feeling. You turn and see an old woman with wild hair and crazy eyes. She mouths something to you, but the only word you catch is "poision." What do you do next?
