Clint and I met yesterday, and I felt drawn to engage with him. He spoke to me about his personal life changes currently taking place, and his discouragement in where he is at in his life right now. .
Today we sat for several hours over dinner, discussing spirituality, relationships, therapy, self-care, white fragility, life purpose, and most importantly; courage.
Thank you so much Clint for spending the evening with me, engaged in so much genuine and enriching conversation. I appreciate the openness you have expressed with me, and your ability to empathize. Thank you for coming to a point in your life where you are facing your demons. Thank you for allowing yourself to feel the cloud, feel the sadness. I hope that you never feel ashamed of your emotions, and that you learn to love all parts of yourself in equanimity. There are so many shades of gray in our dualities worth exploring, and I’m proud of you for taking the first step. Thanks for understanding the important of recognizing one’s privilege and place within the U.S., and providing space and safety to share my experiences with you. You WILL be okay. You WILL stop the cycle. You WILL defeat it. And you WILL learn to love the soft, vulnerable underbelly of your personality with the same valor that you love others. Safe travels, new friend.

When you are ever in the DMV area you must make it to Old Town Alexandria VA. There's one thing I truly love about the nation's capitol is all of the talented people that reside there. Such a great time experiencing this impromptu performance with dancing and all. Check out @king_street_sax.
