Between the hurricane and the heat these stinking bugs have come out with a vengeance. No joke, the mosquitos are as big as hornets. Their bites HURT. And they swell to bigger than a quarter (at least on everyone in this house). Nothing keeps them away quite like terrashield with a drop or two of peppermint in there. #livinghealthydoterra#goawaysummer#comeonfallweather#killthemosquitos
Today we ate pumpkin bars with our coffee, and felt the damp air through the windows, and burned candles.... except it was my first time using my sconces, and discovered they can’t be used with super tall tapers, because they might tip, and drip wax on your friend’s neck, who will react in horror thinking it’s an insect, and her baby will nearly spill out of the carrier...but in the end, no one was seriously hurt and I cut the tapers to a safer length. 😅
Summer has slinked sulkily to his room, which is a bit dramatic since he really got in some bonus time. I’m anticipating he may holler once or twice from the doorway before finally bedding down for a long sleep. Meanwhile, dying, scorched Virginia drops its leaves in the rain, and disappoints the pictures of radiant days in our minds.
The quarry has been our favorite hangout spot this summer. And Hazel has taken up an interest in taking endless pictures. Most of them are of her toes, or the floor, or her brothers head. But this time, she demanded to take a photo of me, told me where to stand, and snapped this one. Figured I wouldn’t deprive the world of her serious 2 year old photog skillzzzz. So here you go, y’all😂
Dear California, summer is over. Why is it so bright and warm???!!!
I’m on strike against summer and I’m going to keep wearing plaids and booties until the weather catches up and gives way to my favorite season!
Simple cute early fall style tip: wear a plaid shirt open like a cardigan for a lighter layer when the weather hasn’t cooled off quite enough in your area! 🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂🍂
