Sometimes you just need to stop and appreciate the beauty of a gorgeous fall day to reset.
I've been struggling with a positive mindset today. I have big goals and I'm not as far ahead as I want to be with them. For us go-getters that's a hard thing to accept.
I have so many ideas, so many things I still want to do, so much effort yet to put in, and honestly it can get overwhelming sometimes.
Knowing that "I can only control myself" can really be annoying sometimes. But I can't give up! Otherwise my hard work will have been for nothing. Nor do I want to give up, that's not my style.
Instead I will just take a breather. I'll take a moment to enjoy this gorgeous October day that Mother Nature has graced us with. I'll appreciate the moment and reflect on far I've come. Then it's time to keep going forward.
They say "Good things come to those who wait"....
But I believe "Good things come to those who work for it".
Blessings vs Gratitude.
In ancient times the word "blessing" meant an action. The father would bless the eldest son to give him his inheritance and the responsibility of the family before the father's death.
"Blessing" in today's world seems like just a word. I live in NC and many of us have been without power for days now. Once the power came on someone said, "what a blessing." Actually there were a lot of people saying blessing.
I find gratitude different. When my power came on I felt my heart bow in a silent "thank you" to the people at the power company who worked endless hours after Hurricane Michael. I felt gratitude to the Divine for wisdom given to these important people. I felt gratitude for neighbors helping neighbors as countless trees and debris fell throughout our neighborhood and state.
Gratitude it's the ACT of being thankful. 🙏
So, thank you to the people who helped restore our power. Thank you to the people who helped people.
Thank you to my precious family. Thank you to @rodrigos.perspective and my wonderful friends at @sondermindandbody . And a million more thank you's.
Life is short, say thank you.🙏💚
Day 17 of the #gettoknowahomesteader scavenger hunt, a quote from your favorite book! I have a ton of favorite quotes but by far my absolute favorite one is from Philippians 4! It’s such a great reminder for me as I’m a worrier first and usually I need to be talked down from my worry! This is one verse I go to often. 💜💜 #philippians4#givethanks#remindertopray
We are made from the food we eat. It affects our body, our mind and our consciousness. Fresh wholesome food full of life will make us feel and think fresh wholesome and full of life. Be grateful to this life force - George🙏❤ #supremeartofliving#food#body#energy#thanks
