I can't believe you tell me goodbye
It's up to you we're playing a game
Time after time I will going on
You'll come back to me
I really feel a big bang in my heart deeper in my soul
I wonder you care it's time to share
Tell me please let me try another romance on you
Baby take a chance
Time give me the night
Hold me tight hold me right I can love you today
All the time give me the night
Loving you loving me when I'm burning you give me the night
You're gonna stop I'm changing your mind
Maybe you know what you mean to me
We feel alive we never go down
Babe it's up to you
"Give Me the Night" is a song recorded by American jazz musician George Benson, which he released from his 1980 studio album of the same title. It was written and composed by Heatwave's keyboard player Rod Temperton and produced by Quincy Jones. Patti Austin provides the backing and scat vocals that are heard throughout, and one of Benson's fellow jazz guitarists, Lee Ritenour, also performs on the selection.
The song was a commercial success, and was George’s first single to hit number one on the US Billboard Soul Singles chart. It also peaked at number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart, making it his most successful pop entry. It also peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot Disco Singles chart and at number seven in the UK Singles Chart. “Give Me the Night" was one of the last disco singles to become a major success, with the steady decline of the genre in the early 1980s.
TEXAS! We brought the whole crew, including @reallouiscato for the fest at @hsbresort today!
Earlier this year we covered George Benson’s “Give Me The Night” with Louis and it’s still one of our favorite videos we’ve done. Check it out! 🤠
