What I really like of this beautiful island (Just 40min by boat from Cancun) is the fact that is being inhabited and it’s so protected and preserved that only few boats a day can reach it 😍 you can relax and enjoy it’s paradise beach almost alone ❤️ the visit is really worth it! 🇲🇽

A diferencia de lo que muchos piensan, esos rostros no son del buda y aunque tampoco se sabe al 100% de quien es el rostro que se repite cientos de veces en este templo, se cree que puedan ser de Avalokitesvara un bodhisattva (en el budismo, un iluminado que decide quedarse en este plano ayudando a otros en su camino a la iluminación) o el rostro del rey Jayavarman, el rey budista de la época de este templo. Otros piensan que hasta podría ser una combinacion de ambos.
