HONEY, I’M HOME! 💛
Though I’ve been MIA with posting this last week or so, I’m officially back from my #presstrip and I couldn’t be more excited about sharing the beauty that is Cuba with all of you 😍🙏🏼
This shot was taken in Havana. Despite only having a very short period of time in the city, I fell in love with all of the amazing architecture and colour!
I also found Cuba to have some of the most lovely people — everyone was so hospitable and friendly!
Speaking of people, I actually selected this particular photo (there were others without people) because I liked it better with the people in it! I don’t know when it became a thing to only share moments on IG that don’t involve locals or fellow travellers in the background 🤔 I know I’ve definitely done this a ton!
But this shot was taken in the middle of the afternoon. Havana is a bumpin’ bustlin’ place — this shot just so accurately reflected this moment for me and I’m so happy to have the others there! 🤗
Have you been to Havana (Oooh Na Na 🎶 — I had to...)?
True story I fired my insta-husband a couple of months ago and replaced him with an actual photographer, female entrepreneur, sweetest soul, beautiful Tinker Bell person (@krystasphoto). ⠀
It really wasn’t working, with the insta-husband you know! Yes he is my loving and caring husband, but when it was time to shoot he would turn into a bossy bitchy camera man (I know you are wondering, but yes I was just the most easy going and fun model to work with too). ⠀
We would have a fight in every single photo shoot, criticize each other for not being up to each other’s expectations, and have too much stress on something that could have been fun.⠀
Anyway, now with @krystasphoto it is so much easier, so much lighter, and we are so creative together because we both love doing it.⠀
My husband helps me a ton with my business but at the end of the day he isn’t a photographer, and was not living his truth as an Insta-husband. ⠀
Bottom line, if there’s something/someone making your life harder let that thing/person go!!! Like now, and not tomorrow! Even if that person is your partner, family, or friend. S/He will understand and you’ll be way more productive. You’re welcome.
🌈 Believe it or not, I didn’t edit the rainbow in - it’s just a crazy reflection bouncing off the window in the airplane!
🌞 After a long 25 hours of travelling, we arrived in Thailand at the very end of a Vegetarian Festival held in Phuket - probably the most chaotic festival I’ve ever experienced in my life, but such a great start to the trip!
🌴 We’re now on Phi Phi Island, munching on pad Thai and generally staring at the beautiful surroundings in awe...
Many of my notebooks contain plenty of creative ideas. But I need time to create... ⏰
We are going to move soon
It will take time until me and my craft stuff will be ready to create again. But still have some ideas to realize before we move 🙂
Hoooooo boy last night I was up until 3.30am laying in bed stressing about nothing of consequence. It’s weird how those deep dark night hours make things feel heavier than they are. Sometimes this small biz journey feels like too much - I’m so personally invested in the work I create that I’m constantly giving and giving and giving and it becomes super important to remember to re-fill that tank with things like self care, wisdom from other people and high vibe energy.
In those darker hours when fear of the unknown comes creeping in, I get really tempted to let go of this big beautiful dream and rest into what is known and easy. I know, though, on some real and deep and intimate level that I love to create and feel most fulfilled doing what I’m doing now. Fear = easy, known, comfortable. Scary leaps = fckn terrifying, ups and downs, the biggest rewards. If you can relate to this, let me know how you go when that fear creeps in and let’s just keep plodding away together and making the big scary leaps to beauty. 💭
Open roads are clearly supposed to be walked on...am I right!? Next time we visit Crater Lake I hope we can actually see Wizard Island more clearly. All the smoke in the parks this summer meant we basically had everything to ourselves, but almost no visibility. But fun fact: Crater Lake was once a mountain that imploded on itself because there was infact a volcano beneath it! 🌋⛰️💦
