It is a very interesting place if you love to see weird things.
This prime meridian line runs through the observatory and you can be in two zones or hemispheres of the world at the same time if you can keep your feet on the two sides of the line!
Greenwich Mean time or GMT as we know it is the mean solar time at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London, reckoned from midnight and all world clocks are measured with reference to GMT.
The 24hour Shepard clock with roman letters is one of its kinds.
The red time balloon that drops at exactly
1300 hours GMT is not to be missed if you happen to visit at that time. It is the earliest marine navigation chronometers of Thames.
scent of a woman . .
“ It was like the smell of fresh earth just sprinkled with water. But not exactly. It was different somehow. And it didn’t have the artificial aura of lavender or attar. It was something primal and timeless – like the relationship between man and woman’’
Excerpt from the story ‘buu’
A brave writer, decades ahead of his time, Manto is startling to read.
He must be amused to look at the aftermath of the partition from wherever he is now.
I wonder if we will ever see such writers in the times to come. -

and zipzapzoom went the rickshaw while I tried the 1/15 shot for the nth time.
thank you 41 degrees for knocking off whatever little sense I had left in me.
I feel quite a zipzapzoom myself looking at this.

The old city by the river Phalgu.
The ancient city of Gaya finds its mention in the great epics Mahabharata, where Ram along with Sita and Lakshman visited Gaya to offer pind-daan to their father Dasharath.
A quiet walk along the old narrow bylanes of andar Gaya (old part of the city) was fascinating.
The houses in these lanes are beautiful heritage structures, with carved marble and intricate wooden work. Some houses are still standing on beautifully carved wooden pillars that are more than 200 years old.
Most are in a sad state of neglect and will crumble away soon. -
The church opened to public in 1787 and I visited it in 2017.
As a tourist in my home city I finally visited this church that I must have crossed a thousand times in these years.
Built on an older graveyard, the city's founder Job Charnock rests in peace here with his family.
It is a historic cemetery where you meet Lord Brabourne (who had once been the Governor of Bombay , Governor of Bengal and the Viceroy of India), Lady Canning (who was also an accomplished photographer, painter and writer), the beautiful Francis Begum Johnson and James pattle, the great great grandfather of William Dalrymple !
The church has a rare bluish grey marble floor and a magnificent musical Pipe organ that reaches till the ceiling. Zoffany's Last Supper is not to be missed. This serene place is like entering a 3d history book, quite like a Muggle world pensieve. .
-Toh aj kya kiya?
Tasweer Banai -Kiski?
Mumbai ki - Kyun, usme kya hai?
Waise toh kuch nahi
Ek aam sheher hai,
Farq sirf itna hai ki
Rishta dil ka hai,
Aur puraani jaan basi hai.
Rang kuch ishq sa hai, aur kuch baatein hain
Jo lehron main ghoonjti rehti hain.
Kabhi is paar aati hain toh dil behel jaata hai.
Jis ki talaash main aye the woh toh na mila,
Aur jise saath lae the woh bhi kahin kho gaya hai.
Kuch khwabon ke buraade hain,
aur ek aadh bulbule
Bada sambhaal ke rakhkha hai inme tumhe .
Aur tasweeron main qaid kuch waqt bhi hai.
Aj ek aur sahi. .
