Hey you guys! I’m about done with my break here at work and just finished eating my dinner! I was SOOO hungry! I am so sorry I didn’t have much to say at my lunch post, but I was in a hurry! Work has been great and I feel a LOT better now that I’ve eaten! 🙌🏻 Here is what I had: baked chicken breast (in @traderjoes 21 Seasoning Salute), brown rice, steamed green beans, Brussels (roasted with olive oil + cayenne + garlic powder + pepper), and sriracha for the top! 😛💦🔥 That DEFINITELY hit the spot and I feel more energized already! My day has been really good! From my walk this morning, to foam-rolling, and taking the shift At work, I DO feel very proud of myself. I have been making some serious strides to better my life and be more spontaneous, so I got sure feel I am making progress there. 💪🏻 I’ve got until 10 at work tonight, so I have a shower, some journaling to do, and relaxing before bed! I want to be asleep at a decent time, so let’s hope that happens. 😅 I hope you babes are all doing great, as well! Let me know your plan! Hope you all are having an active rest day, and enjoying your weekend. Today I want to talk a bit about all of the different exercise methods you can do that you could enjoy! 
Since there are many different types of ways to stay fit I am going to talk about a few that could maybe interest you. 
A lot of times the gym can feel like a chore for people, and overall it can just get boring for people. 
Here are some- 
Weightlifting- 
This is one of the most common ways people stay fit. Weightlifting is a great way to build muscle in the gym. It can push you to become a stronger version of you! 
Zumba/Spinning-
Zumba and spinning are great and fun ways to spice up your fitness routine. With the loud music and the fun, positive atmosphere it is a great way to have fun while working out! You can also to cardio without dreading it! 
Running- 
I know many people don’t like cardio, but some people like running. Running is a great stress reliever, and it also works up a sweat! By adding some obstacles and maybe running up and down hills you can build up stamina.

Boxing/kickboxing-
Boxing and kickboxing are great ways to build strength and also self defense. Boxing and kickboxing helps to burn fat and also tone muscle. You also increase your stamina due to the intense motions. 
There are some enjoyable ways to spice up your fitness routine! Going to the gym shouldn’t feel like a chore, and if it does then switch it up and try something new! Or maybe even do multiple! Wandering around the grocery store can be dangerous...because  then I see new (ish) products from my favorite brands that I need to try!

These were really good! They are more of a cake-y brownie rather than fudge-y, but still just as delicious. What's cool is that they give substitutions for the butter and oil right on the box. I haven't seen that before on a baking mix. Definitely worth a shot.

Recently I got asked what is the role of protein while dieting and why is it important. So, to make it simple protein helps to preserve lean muscle mass, and it also helps you to build new muscle mass. Not only that but its also most fulfilling macronutrient of all three, meaning that eating food high in protein will keep you full longer period. 🤗

How much do you need? According to the protein book by Lyle Mcdonald, you need between 0.7-0.9g/lb while bulking (gaining muscle), and 0.9-1.1 while cutting (losing fat) 👌

Having that said, for today’s post I compared some of the best protein sources in one picture. These are not all of course. Hopefully, you may get an idea what you could incorporate into your diet to increase your protein intake. 🍔

Throwback to tennis season 4 years ago when I was close to my HW- I was embarrassed literally all the time by my appearance. I didn't have clothes that fit right, I felt gross and overweight, and I never took the time out to take care of myself or make myself look nicer to feel better about it. I told myself time and time again I "didn't care" about my appearance, but any time a photo was taken of me or the few times I went out to parties or social events, I just felt so disgusting- especially surrounded by my gorgeous friends. .

There are still days I feel this way or feel that I look this way. But I know I'm working on it. And whereas I'm nowhere near 100% confident in myself, I still feel like I've grown a lot from the person I was in this photo- both mentally and physically.

NOOSA NATIONAL PARK, Coastal Track 🌊 // This has to be one of the most beautiful costal tracks I’ve done. Easy 10km hike of pure beach goodness 🌞 The track is super easy to follow. Relevantly flat with a few sneaky stairs & hills 🙊Literally any fitness level can do this track which is great so no one has to miss out 🙌🏻 Unless your extra adventurous and decide to go a lil’ off route into the bushes in search for more views (if you watched my stories you know what I’m talking about). Probably wouldn’t recommend for the general individual. But I have my trusty compass boyfriend with me who is able to find his way through the bush & trees (it’s like magic) and I just follow along like a little puppy 🐕

Dinner tonight is Red Lentil pasta, grilled chicken, and marinara! Teensy bit of parmesan too 😏 for anyone interested, Red Lentil pasta is just as delicious as regular pasta. First time deadlifting with a barbell in several years, Marquita had pretty low expectations for herself. She was predicting that she *might* be able to pull around 80lbs. Instead, she blew past that and pulled 135lbs for a TRIPLE. I know sometimes it’s very difficult for women to see their competence, to see their strength, to feel their power. But please, if you don’t already have someone in your life who can tell you what your amazing qualities are and help you build up your strengths, FIND ONE. It’s all fine and well believing in the concept of “self-care” but how do we put this into practice? 💁

It’s something I struggle to do. I had my first day off in over a week yesterday and I was exhausted yet, I still felt the need to get up and go for a walk, keeping active all day... I stopped halfway through my walk and tuned into myself. I hadn’t wanted to come, I hadn’t wanted to leave my bed. I was driven by this ridiculous belief that I ‘NEEDED’ to have done these steps.... 🤦‍♀️ Unfortunately I hadn’t accepted that this wasn’t what I really wanted to be doing sooner otherwise I would probably have stopped myself

My point is if you’re dragging yourself to a class or out for some exercise that you don’t really want to be doing stop and ask yourself why? Where is that sense of necessity coming from? What’s the worst that will happen if you don’t go? *
If the answer is that YOU want to go then blooming brilliant but, if you feel compelled - listen to your body and give yourself a rest. If little toddler you was begging you not to make you exercise would you force them to? 👶 Absolutely not SO, look after little toddler you and give yourself some time to rest ✨.
