👻🎭 In 1903, Chicago’s Iroquois Theater was hailed as “absolutely fireproof.” Unfortunately, it was absolutely not. A month after opening its doors, over 600 people were killed in the deadliest building fire in U.S. history. Bodies of the dead were stacked in an alley behind the theatre, which was dubbed “Death Alley”.
The Ford Center for the Performing Arts Oriental Theatre now stands in the Iroquois’ place, but the spirits of the dead remain in Death Alley—apparitions having been spotted as recently as 2005, ironically, during a run of "Wicked". #HauntedTheatre#SpookyTheatreFacts | 📷: Chicago History Museum
#October Tales of #Terror , Day 22: "The Haunted Organist of Hurly Burly," Rosamund Mulholland, 1891.

#HorrorMAD 2018 Day 23
The spookiest thing that ever happened to me in real life was during a road trip with friends. We were driving along a long, beautiful road, with tall trees lining both sides. That road was famous for "sightings". We cruised along with the windows open to let the cool breeze in. Suddenly, a huge shadow figure lithely jumped from one side of the road, onto the hood with a THUMP, and landed on the other side never to be seen again. Everything happened in a a matter of seconds. We didn't speak for 1 full minute but all of us just quietly closed the windows. To this day, no one can explain what happened.
Don't miss our upcoming General Membership Meeting, THIS THURSDAY, 10/25/2018, 7pm, at Alphabet City, 40 W. North Avenue! We've got some special guests, including Bill and Kimberly Gandy of the Allegheny City Historic Gallery, who will give a presentation about the Haunted Northside, just in time for Halloween!
We'll also hear from the folks at Healthy Ride Pittsburgh, about a planned bike station expansion in our neighborhood! Stay tuned for more agenda details in the coming days!
Oh, and there may be some fall baked goods involved. Bring your family and friends! #halloween#pittsburgh#hauntednorthside#ghoststories#community
Our record is DONE! "A Soundtrack for the Modern Ghost" will be available on all of your favorite streaming platforms next Wednesday. Halloween!
Bret Hurren of Hurren Visuals designed a 100% spot on cover and the always amazing Jamie King mastered it for us.
We couldn't be more excited to share it with all of you. We worked really hard on it and we're really proud of it. Here's a trailer of sorts for your viewing and listening pleasure. #alternativemusic#popmusic#darkwave#synthwave#art#halloween#ghosts#ghoststories
