Umtauschen werd ich sie wohl nicht müssen. Die ersten Kilometer musste ich mich erstmal an den neuen Tritt gewöhnen aber dann lief es supergut. Herzfrequenz schön tief gehalten. Lief alles wunderbar. Und Tatsache - die Mama ist komplett mitgelaufen und hat kein einziges Mal wirklich gemurrt ♥️ stolz bin ich. Auf die Mom weil sie sich so toll entwickelt hat. The taro, red bean, and pork buns were almost worth it. And the sushi definitely was. I’m a little annoyed, but I’m reminding myself that even if I just maintain this week, I’m still over 130lbs down. Sometimes maintenance is a victory in itself!

I really HATE the scale. I feel like I’ve done everything I can do to lose weight. I’ve got up and moved, I’m eating right, I feel good and it looks to me like I have lost weight, but the scale keeps fluctuating up-and-down from one sticking pound these last two weeks. I don’t get it. What can I be doing wrong?

I’m baaaackkkk!! I’ve had a great holiday, but damn I feel bloated and lazy! Straight back to the gym today for some cardio, arms and shoulders. Ease me back in gently. It was tough but I’m glad I went straight back into it. That’s the hardest part!

Though I took my gym kit on holiday with me....I didn’t quite make it. I got right into holiday mode and did absolutely nothing. Maybe the break was needed 🤷🏻‍♀️ but the 177 steps down to the beach and back twice a day must have helped 😂 I had a muesli most breakfasts and a salad for lunch every day which, for me, was great with all that all inclusive yumminess on offer!!!➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖➖

ready to take that next step in health!! got my @gymenist kettle bell weights, @gymbanditco mini bands and my complete meal shake from @qsciences !! when life gets busy it seems I'm the last on the list to get fed and when you are trying to take better care of yourself and do workouts you can't just skip a meal!! these great meal shakes are just the thing for me so I can at least get a meal in me and the chocolate flavor is good too! I like that I can just mix it with  water or an alternative milk and that I don't even need to use a blender!! and after I'm done I can mix the q boost and get a bit of mental clarity plus a lil boost of energy!! if you'd like to try any of these! hit me up and if be glad to send u a sample! and a big shout out to @mkemama for inspiring the addition of weight training to my running! 😘

Guten Abend Ihr Lieben 🍂 Der Tag heute war etwas quer, und am Ende wieder viel zu schnell vorbei 🙄 Ich war heute noch bei meiner Nagelfee,  dafür aber musste Sport ausfallen. Aber 1-2 sportfreie Tage können nicht schaden. Spazieren war ich trotzdem 👍🏼 Jetzt läuft erst mal noch Fußball...wenn Werder spielt bin ich abgemeldet 🤣 Danach werden wir „ES“ schauen. Wer hat ihn gesehen? Neu oder alt? Ich kenne bisher nur die alte Verfilmung, und die war -wenn man mal ehrlich ist- super schlecht. Mit 17 fand ich ihn dann auch sogar mal ganz lustig, trotzdem gab es immer wieder Momente, wo ich an Pennywise denken musste in den letzten ca 22 Jahren, meist unter Duschen mit so mittigen Abläufen 😱 Ich schaue die Neuverfilmung also mit gemischten Gefühlen - und dem Versprechen meines ❤️, mich danach NICHT damit aufzuziehen und/oder zu erschrecken. This work-out was so hard to get done this morning. I was cold, sore and tired. Hard to get started and didn't have the momentum to keep going, until one of the trainers came up to me and told me he was proud of me because he sees me kill it every time I'm in the gym. That's all it took for me to finish. He may have been reaching lol but hey it was nice to hear even if he was trying to sell himself haha

Obesity runs in my family. I do not have skinny genes. I knew absolutely nothing about health, or fitness. I cried, I binged, felt like giving up. Failed more times than I can remember but I was tired of living depressed and unhappy with myself. Picked myself up, stopped with all the excuses and most importantly stopped feeling sorry for myself. This is by far one of my favourite soups in the world (except mums home made chicken soup) 🥣 despite the humidity this mumma is craving Beef and Vegetable soup 😍 one of the amazing recipes from the @maxineschallenge !! I may not have my abs showing at the moment and lets be honest in 12 weeks I could do it but this time I’m taking it slow and steady 🙌🏻!! I’ve done it before I know how hard it was and this journey of self love and health isn’t done in 12 weeks!! I don’t have a gym membership at the moment and right now it’s not a priority! The girls and I are off to Melbourne next week 😍 yay I get to meet my new niece!! When we get back the girls are starting child care 🙈🙈😍😍 super mixed emotions but I know they will love it! I missed my normal morning workout and it threw my day OFFFFFF 😅 but I said no excuses and I can’t break an appointment with myself, even if I have to reschedule it... so I’m taking this unicorn crack and pushing through. What a WILD Friday night right?! 😉 😂 🤷🏾‍♀️

Friday means lunch out at work. My standard is the Garden Salad at Culver’s with chicken. An afternoon in the car meant gas station snacks and those granola bites were so good! I wasn’t sure where dinner would be. We ended up at a Granite City Brewery. I asked for the side salad with no blue cheese and some grilled shrimp, then split some mini desserts with my hubby. This is why I love counting macros. I had targets to keep in mind, but went slightly over on fat and protein but was under on carbs. I was close on my total calories and I ended the day feeling satisfied and didn’t feel deprived at all.  The old me would have splurged every meal because it was “Friday” and I was going out of town...I can tell you that I feel 100% better eating this way and that’s what I truly deserve. TGIF!!!

Got in a killer chest and back workout with my homie today! Finally moved up to 35lbs on my pullup, I'm very pleased with the progress (besides not being able to get my chin over on that last rep lol). 6 months ago i could do 2 pullups with my bodyweight, NOTHING is impossible! 💪

Steady days training for a Friday! Started out with 20mins on the assault bike, 30s on 30s recovery pace! After two weeks off the bike it was good to be back at it!

Then a pm session that deceived me! The HSPU wod was tough to say the least but every workout makes you a little better and stronger than before you started!

I have a confession to make: I love cardio 😋
.
Many people actually don’t know this about me because I never do cardio. But It’s not because I don’t like it. It’s because it doesn’t help me stay lean and strong.
.
Counterintuitive, I know.
.
Cardio can make you feel really good, and this is what I and many of my clients initially used to explain our attachment to it.
.
We would just say it makes us feel good. Until we faced the truth of what we were feeling good about…
.
👉 Feeling like we were going to lose fat, or at least not get fat.
.
But if you are relieving an aesthetics (weight) related anxiety, it could be feeding a destructive disorder.
.
Because all it really does is burn calories.
.
It doesn’t help you get rid of body fat through some special mechanism, it just burns calories.
.
Just like picking things up, chewing, digesting, walking, breathing, and farting…😐
.
👉 So if you only do cardio (by itself), your body adapts in the same way as a low calorie intake (same relationship energy balance wise), by wasting muscle and lowering your metabolic demand (fastest way to skinny fat 😬).
.
It shows initial results but then you have to keep doing more to sustain those results, while your body breaks down.
.
👎You become attached to a method that isn’t sustainable or effective.
.
☝️ Most likely, you want to be lean, not lose weight. You want to look “toned” or “ripped,” not see the scale go down (although that’s satisfying when you are working hard). Right?
.
So if cardio is taking up all of your time and energy, then you likely aren’t building muscle and helping your metabolism (read two posts ago), which is actually the key to having lower body fat percentages (aka looking lean).
.
If you’re eating right, it’s likely you won’t have to do cardio.
.
If you’re training with weights, it’s likely you can eat more while still losing fat.
.
This leaves cardio as a tool in your tool box for burning more calories, or just to enjoy in a healthy way 🙂

So if you are attached to cardio because you are anxious about gaining or losing weight, I encourage you to focus on solving that problem (physically and mentally) instead of LITERALLY trying to run from it 💙
