Here's 5 tips to help you savor the morning of your wedding day...
1. Start early to savor your day.
Build in lots of extra time so you're not rushing and can be fully present. You want time to sit down and relax, do a toast or say a prayer with your bridesmaids, and reflect on your big day.
2. Choose a beautiful and convenient getting ready location.
Find somewhere like an Airbnb or hotel with enough space for you and your bridesmaids to all get glammed up together! Make sure your location has plenty of natural light for fun stunning photos, but also make sure it’s not too far of a drive from your ceremony site.
3. Invite your loved ones to help with details.
Have your mom and sister there to help you into your dress. Have your grandma or aunt put on your earrings. They will love this, and so will you. It's fun to take your time and capture details like putting on your dress, jewelry, shoes, and the perfume you've carefully selected.
4. Do a first look with your bridesmaids.
Once your hair and makeup is done, have your girls all turn around or leave the room while you get into the dress. Then do a special "first look" with them once you are all ready. There’s usually some tears involved with this one!
5. Breathe deeply and practice gratitude.
Close your eyes every now and then and take a few deep breaths. Think of 3 things you're grateful for in this moment. Seriously...do this! It will not only slow time down, but it will help you see how perfect everything is :)

Getting ready for a shoot at the fire station today! 😍 I’ve been so busy lately and it has made me feel so excited about the months to come. It just a couple days Emma Dee Photography will be TWO MONTHS OLD. Time flies by when you’re doing what you love.
On a wedding day, sometimes I find myself wearing multiple hats. When there is no planner, I become the one who is moving everyone along according to the timeline, calming the bride, and making sure everyone is where they need to be. When things are rushed, I can wear the hat of the makeup artist by touching up foundation and removing eyeliner that has bled. When no one knows how to bustle the dress, I’m happy to step in and help. I never know what the day will hold, but I love wearing all the hats so that the bride will enjoy her day! My goal is that the bride and groom remember their wedding day as the best day of their lives. All weddings have hitches, but if the day goes by without the bride or groom knowing about them, that is a success! When they look back at the photos and they feel happiness and love, my job has been done. #mtayphotos
