I have my last wedding of the year next weekend and it’s gonna be a great way to end this wedding season! I’ve been looking forward to @rachelleelauren ‘s wedding for almost a year! It will be in Julian, CA at the cutest woodsy venue 😍 —
As much as I’ve enjoyed every bit of this crazy year, I’m looking forward to taking three months “off” to catch up on galleries and focus on things I’ve put on the back burner... like my marketing and goal-setting. Speaking of, I was looking over my goals that I made at the beginning of the year and I’ve accomplished/exceed 90% of them! I’m stoked that my business has taken off this last year. It was scary going full time in March, but not once have I looked back 🙌🏼 —
If you want something bad enough, you’ll make it happen. Don’t take “no” for an answer or tell yourself you can’t do it. You can. YOU. GOT. THISSS!
Lastly, I love this shot of @laineyphay so much 😍😍
Sitting in the airport feeling grateful that I got to photograph one of my good friends‘ wedding in San Francisco today! Can’t wait to get some sneaks out 😍
But, I’m also annoyed that I have a four hour delay home right now 😂
Those are the realities of being a traveling photographer, folks.
On another note, I ran into a couple that just got married this past weekend and we hit it off instantly. We bonded over wedding talk, personal life and looking at their AMAZING sneaks they got back from @mollymcphoto ... It’s crazy how this world works. @nicoledaniellepatton and @chickennoodlesoupfortheswole - I wish you two sooo much happiness and I’m so thankful you let me bug you for a few hours + drool over your wedding photos haha. —
Lastly, I love this shoe shot of @daves_metal_craft ... window light is life. —
Just spent the whole morning updating the portfolio on my site, PHEW.
This gorgeous babe had so many good ones it was hard to narrow them down for the gallery on my site. Absolutely love her and her entire wedding party and family!!
Favor/gift vendor: @highcottonbathco
This company is incredible! They make #custombathproducts ! You just choose the products and then tell them the color and scent you want and they whip it up! I walked in, gave them my color scheme and asked them to make something that reminds you of the beach. They delivered a perfectly matched array of bath products that transport me to the beach every time I use them!!!! They come in beautiful (especially for photographs) bottles and jars with customizable labels! They make great bridesmaid gifts, wedding favors (hello amazing bath bombs), and especially for pampering the bride and bridal party on the big day!
I’m so excited to have them back for this shoot! Their products are great for practicing your product photography, adding those little details upgrades any shoot! And those getting ready pictures have one more element that draws the eye!
As I planned our wedding I found myself kind of lost in the pomp and circ' and wanted to find meaning in everything that we would do that day. Thinking about the fact that I'd be joining an Irish fam, I looked into some of their old wedding traditions. Because traditions help you connect with people, thousands of years from you, and add context that is so much larger than you in a particular moment. And no one has thousands of years of context like the Irish...
🇮🇪 So entered my flower crown. A Flower crown of wildflowers was the traditional adornments for Irish brides instead of a veil. Brides were advised to wear spices and herbs in their hair to ward off demons and, eventually, tying them into a wreath became the easiest way for brides to do so.
To seal their vows, Irish couples would perform a handfasting ceremony. A cord is wrapped around their wrists and both the bride and groom must pull their end to bring the knot together. As the couple ties the knot, a reminder is read that for as long as the knot was tied, so will the couple be bound to their vows. AND THEN THEYD SMOOCH.
And bonus, it was considered bad luck for a bride to take both of her feet off the dance floor during her reception or fairies would carry her away, so to be honest, I'm surprised I'm still here and not posting this in some forest somewhere. History is pretty cool, man.
Look no further! I have the perfect gift for your bridesmaids that happens to also be wonderful for your “getting ready” photos. Sip your beverage of choice with these personalized stemless flutes. The etching is deep and permanent so the gift lasts forever ❤️
It's Tuesday, and I feel like giving a toast (#BecauseWhyNot ? Or better yet, #BecauseIts5OClockSomewhere !🍹) So here's a toast to all those living with LOVE. To engaged couples and married folk; to bromances and sister friends; to career enthusiasts and wanderlusters - there's a lot of crazy in the world, but also a lot to be thankful for. So #cheers to you - I hope you're living with love ❤🍻

The small details and moments like these are why I love being a wedding photographer. 💕 and being surrounded by Joanna’s bridesmaids was truly lovely. They kept us laughing all day and were so supportive and kind and gracious and I’m really blessed to have been a part of it.
