As much as I love photographing styled shoots and fashion, there’s something special about skin. While fashion gives beautiful movement for self expression and individuality, skin gives us nothing to hide behind. A momentary reminder we are all human, we are all vulnerable. A strange carnal mess of animal and spiritual, tied underneath flesh and sweat and veins.
It is so important to count your blessings when you’re not okay. Even if you feel as if there are no blessings to count, focus on the things that used to bring you joy. Appreciate your surroundings, whether it’s the tall buildings or the green grass or even the sound of life itself. Appreciate it. Force yourself to see the light until that light finally appears before you. It may take weeks, months, years, but that light will shine again. You will be okay again. You will shine again.
