Orion and I are driving up to Ohio today for our 10 year UAHS class reunion and Thanksgiving Weekend. ❤️ It's about an 8 hour drive from NC to OH. On long drives like these we always use the app @alltrails to discover more beautiful portions of this country's state and national parks. Today, we stopped at Pilot Mountain in NC. My mom and I hiked here when I was little, I remember us getting lost on this mountain! 😂 Of course that was before we had smart phones and GPS apps. The trail was a little hard to see with all the leaves, but Orion is such a good #traildog that he blazed the path for me today! 🐕 I challenge YOU to get out in a State or National Park this weekend. Did I want to wake up at 5 am to workout? Hellllllllll no lol 😝 .
But I did & pushed through my 30 minute workout because I know that’s the only way I’m going to get results. 🙌🏼 .
Today was leg & booty day 🍑 The area I really want to get more toned & lean, so I really didn’t want to skip it!
It consisted of a series of exercises for 1 min each, then pulsing that moment, & then a 30 sec hold in that position. Needless to say I was really happy to get to the cool down! 😅

For those of you who have followed my journey over the last few years know that I only learned to swim a month before my 40th birthday, which was just over a year ago. Years before, I admired so many people who were confident in the water, could swim, kayak, surf and paddleboard. I made myself a promise after I learned to swim to take the plunge. A year ago, during the @dubaifitnesschallenge I went out on my first board. Since then I've taken friends with me, so many had never tried it, like me afraid of the challenge involved with standing on a board. You realise quickly how easy it really is once you learn the important skills before you hit the water. People under estimate how important it is to use your core, balance and stability.
If you've never tried Stand Up Paddle boarding, now is your chance. It's free during the @dubaifitnesschallenge down at the Kite Beach Fitness Village. It's free all day courtesy of @kitensurfdubai.

I escaped to Newcastle County Down yesterday walked along the beach so cold but so great just to be there so early, stopped in at @slieve_donard_resort to see their Christmas Decor. . Drove up into the Mournes and just took in the gorgeous scenery x

Support your mental health this January by doing something active every day 🏃♂️🏊♀️ I know it may be a little early to start thinking about what happens when Santa leaves town but I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling that January is a month when it really helps to have a focus. That’s why I've signed up to Red January for @dorsetmind and hopefully you will too.
The idea behind it is a simple one by trying to get people active and doing something every day throughout January. Whether it’s running 5k, or walking to work a new way, a morning swim or just taking the bike for a spin 🚴♂️ It is well documented, and I am a firm believer, that physical activity can have a positive impact on mental health and it’s not about walking, running or cycling huge distances it’s about just doing something however big or small. You never know by the end of the month it may be something that stays with you the rest of the year, forming healthy habits to continue throughout January and beyond.
