Even though medical school is not where my journey is headed, I love reading about patient stories. This book has a lot of really amazing cases and addresses a lot of psychosocial and bioethical concerns that (I think) all health care providers should be thinking about for their patients, regardless of what part of our patient’s journey we are a part of. 👩🏻⚕️

Don’t laugh. But, I got a yoga workout for “older or injured people”. It’s actually a bit challenging for me. (I said don’t laugh.) I’ve never really done yoga before because I’ve always been bored to death by it. But the stretching sure feels good after laying in bed for days at a time. And you’d be surprised how tight your chest is after a mastectomy; it even makes your shoulder hurt. Anyway, this little guy sat outside with me during today’s session. Sometimes I can’t even handle how cute he is. ❤️ #Yoga#shihtzu#Love#Meditation
Been a little bummed out cuz next weekend me and the rest of #TeamNakanishi are doing our Realtor continuing ed in Kona- then the entire family is staying for the weekend to hang out at the beach and I’m missing a boob. 😕 But, I swear by divine intervention, I remembered seeing some bathing suits with ruffles! What do you know, @macys had a ton of them in stock and they totally hide the fact that I’m lopsided! Yay! I get to beach it too! Now, if they just made stylish swim caps to protect my head. #IDontThinkTheyllEverBeInStyle#BeachTime#Ohana#Realtor#ContinuingEd#HawaiiIslandRealtors#HawaiiLife
The latest and greatest NCCN guidelines now say everyone and anyone with Pancreatic Cancer qualify for hereditary cancer testing! Why does this matter? How many people will be impacted by this? Read a short update about it following the link in our bio.
I was finally able to eat a full meal this evening- it was Thai food; (thank you Eddie.) I have to be REAALLY sick to turn down Thai food. (Apparently, nearly dead.) And despite the involuntary fasting, I’ve managed to gain 8pds since I started chemo. Yep, it’s another one of the joyful side effects - they pump you with steroids and mess with your hormones. For now I’m not gonna worry too much about it; but, you better believe this girl is going on my vision board. As my niece @faithmakanalani would say her abs are #Goals . #Recovery#Abs#Chemo#Chemotherapy#chemobrain#SideEffects#chemosideeffects

Genetic testing is the foundation of discovering more exact diagnostic testing and treatable actions. Tens of thousands of dollars can be saved by discovering the genes and associated pathways before running costly lab testing. Treatment then is more targeted and effective also saving costly dollars in medications and supplements.
GeneSavvy architects this foundation of targeted diagnosis and treatment in a personalized manner through our comprehensive genetic panels and proprietary bioinformatics pipeline. #science#genetics#genesavvy#chronicillness#autism#geneticcounseling#genetictesting#healthandwellness#biohacking#labtest#athometest#integrativemedicine#naturopath#functionalmedicine
