#Repost @womensstrengthcoalition reposting @ironstrongjewelry - lift for YOU, not the likes (but ok if you get those too!)
The message of self-confidence over group approval is very important to me, and cannot be said or heard enough in my LGBTQ+ community. -
Not posting to hate on those who lift for their physique (body sculpting is hard work, mad respect!) but to empower those who strive for strength, inside and out.
Read below for more - 👏🏼 and ❤️ for those mentioned above who posted this. -
When I’ve lost weight, I’ve gotten compliments on how good I look. When I gained weight, really muscle, I got backhanded comments, “you look buff”.
No denying that the compliments are addictive. It feels nice to be noticed....but for getting smaller until I disappear?
Those compliments won’t be there to pick up my suitcase and put it in the overhead bin when I’m old. Those compliments don’t reverse osteoporosis. The compliments aren’t carrying my Trader Joe’s grocery bags with ease.
Those compliments aren’t enough for me anymore. I lift for the gains. I like muscles. I like being strong. Strong is the best compliment I give to myself.
He deadlifts 926lbs, back squats 800lbs, front squats 650lbs and he will be here THIS Sunday! Join @worlds_strongest_gay for a 4-hour Squat and Deadlift Seminar. He will be breaking down these 3 lifts and then you will have a chance to put weight on the bar and put into practice what has been reviewed. If you’re a beginner or more experienced there is a lot to get out of Sunday. .
