Why we train animal moves. ************
Many of us are restricted with our views of effective training. Traditional fitness and strength training puts us into one of two camps. Cardio or weight training. Me I am not sold on sitting in one of those camps - in fact my view of fitness encompasses a more rounded view. While it is current fad to look at fitness from a holistic view, it has always been my philosophy and my client's training has always encompassed that . I also believe there are more aspects to strength and cardio based training than traditional exercise gives credit to or embraces.
Many of those who train with me get subjected to my "crazy" exercises. My animal move training. Some take it on board for the challenge it offers - others put it in the too hard basket. (Cause it is hard - bloody hard) but those who persevere come out the end stronger, leaner and fitter.
So why should you include it in your training?
Because it offers an aspect of both strength and endurance that we don't receive in our standard endurance/fitness/fatloss cardio training and our weight training. It also improves our capacity to move well.
Traditional training fosters movements in a singular plane of movement. But in life we move in multiple planes of movement. With animal moves, it provides strength and endurance in multi planes of movement - sideways, forward back etc. So it builds our strength and endurance accordingly - hence you become fitter and stronger and more mobile for day to day life.
