I've had this #garlicchive for about 4-5 years now & this is the first time it produced flowers! I use the leaves in so many dishes that's why, I guess.
I'm trying really hard not to be tempted to add its delicate star-shaped flowers to my salad but.......
I just hope I can control myself long enough until it reseeds itself in #myfoodforest 😄
At least if I'm going to perish from completely preventable anthropogenic environmental destruction I plan to have FUN in the decades leading up to it, eat LOTS of chocolate and do the RIGHT THINGS in case there's divine judgement in the afterlife.

Nose - Bilimbi 'borrowed' from public gardens (not incriminating myself more than that).
Moustache - Dried Ethical Beyond Belief Cayenne Pepper
Hair - Mint Cuttings to plant later
Ears - Monkey Fruit borrowed from aforementioned public gardens.
EVERY SINGLE (except de Guyanese sugar in de chocolate) THING LOCAL (even the homemade salt) to ensure credit towards heaven. .

Was feeling creative and wanted to make a dish with pesto made from my garden's herbs. This what I came up with: Lemon Garlic Chicken with melted provolone and bacon crumbles, sliced beefsteak tomatoes, brussel sprouts and baby carrots sauteed in caramelized onions, and baked tortellini drizzled with butter infused from the pesto. Garlic chive flowers and lemon twists added as a garnish.
Never ceases to amaze me how baskets full of wonderfull herbs from the garden can be reduced to just a few jars!
And then they live in my fridge (covered with a layer of oil to prolong freshness,) providing delicious concentrated flavors and goodness to every meal! ❤
