Keeping it simple this summer ☀️ day back home in Saratoga. It’s nice to escape the city once in a while. Today we’re lunching on green olive sourdough from Manresa Bread, homemade walnut pesto, & cherry tomatoes from the garden. All seasoned in a generous amount of @bragglivefoods olive oil and a Tuscan herb blend from Italia. Special shoutout to @rubydosen for her spectacular gardening abilities. We’ve got the best basil and tomatoes in the world thanks to my mommas green thumbs! Hope you’re all eating something real good today 😋
It feels as if there has been no rain for months, fortunately our garden is still looking green, and we have lots of flowers. There is water on two sides of our garden which helps with the watering. We invented a system using rain barrels that works well for us, please read on if you are interested! We moved the 2 barrels near the water and fill it with buckets from the surrounding water. (Third picture) We have attached hosepipes to the rainbarrels we move around in our borders for watering. It works like a charm! Hope this helps you too! Wishing everyone with drought problems a lot of rain...
Did you see my stories yesterday? I had sooooooo many sunflowers! 🌻
I basically went around the neighborhood and gave them away. They don't last very long once cut, but it's nice to bring a little sunshine to someone's day. They say giving us always better than receiving, and I agree!
What's one nice thing you can do for someone this week? Even if it's as simple as smiling at someone as you pass them on the street, or paying someone a compliment. It's the little things that make up the story of our lives.
And don't forget to do something nice for yourself too! ✌️
Gardens everywhere are popping off and we are just remixing these veggie's natural beauty and subtle flavors on our plates here at Sweetwater Kitchen. #KISS is some great advice #gardenlove#gardentotable#tastethesun
