Warrior/Champion - Unarmed Combat. 12" tall, 1:7 scale. A work in progress sculpture. Hope to turn him into a bronze for myself. He will also become available as a resin kit from Weta Workshop. Some quick updates on the Wolverine resin build. This kit was lacking a few details so I had to sculpt them in.
1. Create iconic X belt buckle
2. Reshape face, reshape ears, and sculpt a new nose
3. I want this build to be portable, and if I ever pack it up the claws will be SUPER fragile when attached to the body. I wanted to make the hands detachable for easier packaging so wolvy got some surgery. I cut the hands off, added a magnet and brass rod attachment point, and then sculpted on a new glove. Needs a little texturing but fits like a (pun intended) glove.
Today was the absolutely most fun creative time I have had in years!
This was my first time painting a resin figure and my only 2nd time really using an airbrush. I don’t have a lot of experience painting 3D things that don’t consist of people’s faces.
@caseylovedesigns class today was fantastic! He was a wonderful teacher and encouraged creativity. He mentioned Basil Gogos and I went a bit crazy making a #TopstoneMask#ShockMonster in that style using the colors Casey provided. I learned my airbrushes are trash and I am saving up to get new ones.
I think this is my new favorite hobby and I can not wait to attend another one of his classes in the future! Give him a follow at @caseylovedesigns to see is fabulous work and sign up for a class yourself. Sculpture is by @caseylovedesigns, paint, hair and drool by: @michelinepitt 💕 #basilgogos#shockmonster#garagekit#resinkit#resincast#diy#firsttimer
