For me the argument can be broken down into two categories:

1. The competitor. This is a definite No-No. Play fair or don’t play. Using something that breaks the rules steals the work of other honest Joe’s. Yes, sir, this makes you an a$$hole.

2. The average guy just tryin to be healthy and look good naked. Ok, so at the point being this crap is literally illegal and not proven by large stretches to be free from possible (some terrrrrible) side effects. So currently then, also an obvious NO right? Why take the risk? Whats to gain? Didnt you start the journey for health also? Wadda you doin man? You’re ego is gonna kill you. Besides, in my opinion at least, steroid users tend to kind of all look alike. Rather be patient - avoid the temptations - and see what your amazing body can do and look like naturally. With long enough dedication (herein lies the true problem for most) you will be blown away what you can do.

I love that we’re still able to do the things that brought us together to begin with...and now we have @eleikothegympup to get into all sorts of fun adventures with. The final american challenge results were up today and I was snubbed big time! 100% raw started allowing knee sleeves in competitions but never told anyone if you use them you wont be eligible to win the AC eventhough I beat the "champ" by over 150lbs beltless but i guess those knee skeeves gave me the edge... Anyway that really stoked my fire for today and made me realize I dont want to represent them anyway I want to represent myself like ive always done. I'll see you at worlds "champ"

Crazy fun morning doing the #pioneerpowersprinttri 🏊‍♂️ 🚲 🏃🏼‍♀️ benefitting the @twu_soccer team!! I learned a few things today: (1) I knew this already, but I am not an endurance athlete and will never pretend to be! But I think that’s why I like doing this stuff, it’s super challenging for me, and stretches me (2) Endurance athletes are BOSS BEASTS (3) Going 30mph in a car feels kinda slow but going 30mph on a bike is crazy fun and exhilarating!!! More more! ... and a few other thoughts... (1) I should actually train for these if I want to do them, maybe that would help 🤷‍♀️ (2) MEN—- the bike saddle is a torture device. It was hard enough for me.. HOW do you guys do it??? (3) I want to do it again! It was a blast being at my alma mater @txwomans for this! (4) last but certainly not least- the TWU Soccer Team ⚽️ is a legit group of sweet hard working women!! Thank y’all so much for making this such an awesome event! 👊🏻

Inspired by a video I saw of @drfionnula doing overhead pistol squats, I decided to play with them after my lift today. I’d never done them before, so it took a few tries to get the mechanics…and I still have work to do to improve my form...and progress to the 25lb plate Fionnula holds over her head…but I’m feeling more confident with them now and look forward to integrating them into my training sessions going forward. The first clip shows me starting to get the hang of them, but swipe to watch the other one that shows some of my fails😜. The fails make it fun—and productive. Remember, if it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you!💪😎

BTW, it you aren’t already following @drfionnula , you should! My husband @donovan.santas introduced me to her account a couple of days ago.  He said he followed her after hearing her on our friend @derekwoodske ‘s podcast (I need to check out that episode). Fionnula is AMAZING! She’s a medical and functional doctor, who lifts heavy, moves well, is smart as hell, loves her dog (#mustlovedogs) and devotes much of her time to educating, inspiring and empowering people to be more mentally and physically healthy. Oh and she’s also f’ing beautiful…clearly, inside and out! 👊🔥❤️

I’d never done them before, so it took a few tries to get the mechanics…and I still have work to do to improve my form...and progress to the 25lb plate Fionnula holds over her head…but I’m feeling more confident with them now and look forward to integrating them into my training sessions going forward. The first clip shows me starting to get the hang of them, but swipe to watch the other one that shows some of my fails😜. The fails make it fun—and productive. Remember, if it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you!💪😎 . BTW, it you aren’t already following @drfionnula , you should! My husband @donovan.santas introduced me to her account a couple of days ago. He said he followed her after hearing her on our friend @derekwoodske ‘s podcast (I need to check out that episode). Fionnula is AMAZING! She’s a medical and functional doctor, who lifts heavy, moves well, is smart as hell, loves her dog (#mustlovedogs ) and devotes much of her time to educating, inspiring and empowering people to be more mentally and physically healthy. Safety Bar Squats today. 146kgs for 5’s. Knocked my elbow on rep 1 because I was stupid (hence the wobble). However this is a nice PB in week 2 of this Meso so looking forward to seeing what else is left in the tank.

We run into problem when we start losing some of those movement points through restricted tissues (stiffness in the joints). All those “posture problems” you can think about are NOT a position problems... thay are a lack of movement problems because your parts start to lose their ability to move! .

When that happens, your brain starts to see your upper back as one big piece rather than 12!  Then you get other movement problems and possibly pain developing in the other parts of your spine that are trying to move extra to make up for your crappy mid back.

Today’s lesson: Turkish Getups. 🇹🇷 Walk into to any gym, boot camp, CF, or Joe Bobs Fitness Something. 
You’ll see the first video happening more times than not. 👀 the difference between the two. 
The first looks horrible and is putting the athlete in all types of injury prone positions. 
The second is aesthetically pleasing, structured and safe. It’s also the way the experts teach get ups. 
What do you think will treat you better in the long run? 
Getting your “WOD” done faster than your friends and blowing up your back or a shoulder, 
Or doing something in a way that is safe and actually develops you?

This is something I do at the end of my warm-ups before I start my training sessions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I do this to stimulate my Central Nervous System. It is vitally important to fire up your CNS before any kind of strength training. It works better than any rainbow-colored pre-workout you are taking to get you fired up and ready to train. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Focus on stretching as high as you can with the slamball and then hinging at the hips and driving them back as you fully extend and slam the ball down. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Then make sure to keep a neutral spine as you hinge deeper to pick up the ball. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Come into full hip extension as you press the ball overhead again. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't forget to breathe! Inhale deeply as you extend and then a hard exhale on the slam.

I usually do 8-10 reps followed by 20-30 sec. of seal jacks. Then repeat 1-2x.
