What a blast with Warhammer Fest Europe ! For my second #goldendemon as a contestant (was visitor so many times before), I saw so amazing entries in the cabinets !
At first disappointed not being able to finish my knight questor on time, I took with me two others paintings, only for not coming empty-handed. And I was fortunate enough to take Gold with my #gandalf and Bronze with my #Shadespire#sepulchralguard unit! I still can't believe it !
Congrats to all the contestants! winners or not, you all rock ! 👍 Was very happy to identify a few entries I follow on IG or FB, even if I was way too shy to dare introducing myself. Till next time for sure ! Really inspiring event. Even more eager to go back to my painting shelf... Sorry for the poor pic with my phone as I'm not yet home.
I was all set to post a time turner picture for “on Sundays we post Potter”, with a comment about how it would be so helpful for parents to have this ability (which honestly... I would use mainly for mommy nap or reading time!)... but another quote about time kept coming to my thoughts this week as life keeps happening to us and those near and dear to us.
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
"So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
I think we can all relate to the feeling of being stuck, frustrated or saddened by what is around us, or unsure of what’s ahead. Whether the specific circumstances relate to jobs or relationships or friendships, or the lack thereof; depression or other health concerns, politics or social injustices; spiritually or emotionally - this is a thread that is common to us all, whatever “it” is that we would oh so much rather not be facing.
Gandalf’s reminder is so helpful for me. I believe there is a God who is lovingly in control, and working although I often don’t see how or why. Regardless, I am not in control of many things; I am not responsible for how everything that I worry over turns out; but neither can I sit back and simply watch passively... what I “have to decide is what to do with the time that is given [me].” I pray & hope that I choose faithfulness.
PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.
GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.
PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?
GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.
PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.
GANDALF: No. No, it isn't
