The Yue/Cole study 1992-The first group trained their left hypothenar muscles (muscles that lift the pinky finger) for 4 weeks, five sessions per week using maximal isometric contractions. The second group literally imagined producing these same, effortful isometric contractions. A third group did not train their finger at all.

Your portion sizes are too big:

Do you find yourself eating huge portions of healthy nutrients like vegetables, nuts, seeds avocados and grains? If you're eating a large portion of these foods you're bound to go over your calorie limit across the whole day. If you're consuming more calories than you're burning, you will not lose weight/burn body fat. The problem is that all of these healthy nuts, seeds & avocados have more calories per gram in them than protein or carbs. So go easy on your portion sizes and start weighing your food and tracking your calories!

Your meal timing is wrong:

You keep leaving your largest meal of the day with carbs included until the end of the day when you have eaten very little all day. Breakfast kick starts your metabolism, breaking the fast you have been in all night, hence the term break-fast. When you wake up your body has gone for 6-8 hours(depending on your sleeping pattern) without food. Now you wouldn't wait 6-8 hours during the day to eat, would you? So why wait any longer after sleeping all night?

Breakfast gives you energy to start your day. Skipping breakfast will lead to hunger midday, which will then lead to cravings for sugary & high carb foods! You can avoid this by eating a healthy nutritious breakfast. 
Examples of Healthy Breakfasts: 
Eggs(Boiled,scrambled,omelette) . Add tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, turkey bacon, chorizo. Its your choice, get creative but don't overeat. Our personal favourite is an Omelette(4 egg whites,2 egg yolks) with feta cheese, chorizo, tomatoes & oregano. 
Overnight Oats made with almond milk or protein milk. Add a scoop of your favourite flavor protein to give them a boost. In the morning, add fruit and a teaspoon of nut butter. The best thing about overnight oats is, you make them within 1 minute the night before and consume in 5 mins the next morning. 
Greek yogurt with berries & 20-30 g granola. Try to stay away from high sugar granola. Some supermarkets actually sell protein granola so even try that! 
Avocado toast with bacon. Go for turkey bacon and wholegrain bread here. Add in some avocado and an egg or two to boost your protein. 
There are plenty of healthy breakfast options out there, these are just some simple examples that don't require too much effort to prepare!

I knew a few girls like this and aside from obvious factors like genetic predisposition, the one thing I noticed was that they trained their glutes, a lot. I heard of one specifically that trained legs everyday! And man she had a nice booty... This goes against everything I was first taught about muscle hypertrophy, about the importance of rest for growth...

So I got to thinking. Maybe itโ€™s the type of exercise? These girls are doing predominatly acessory work, using more the sarcoplasmic (getting the pump) mechanism of hypertrophy than myofibril (creating microtears). This would make sense as to why recovery time may not be such an important factor. Or is it?..

When comparing results, it was determined that major muscle groups should be trained at least twice a week to maximize muscle growth; whether training a muscle group three times per week is superior to a twice-per-week protocol remains to be determined.

If you can train a muscle group 3 times per week then maybe you should, if youre looking for substancial growth in regards to a lagging muscle group. There are spaces between things. .

There are beginnings , endings and there is that space in between. .

In this space there can be that sense of just being, that space where things come together. That space where all that you have put into something starts to level out , flow and manifest itself into creation and a physical form of some sort. .

Here, in this space it can feel free, open, silent and almost peaceful. .

There is also a benefit to being present of the transition from the beginning stages, where there is an exertion or energy,a bit more drive, a bit more moving forward. There is also a benefit of being present with the transition into endings, where things start to move + fall away, when things may change + transform + when a new cycle is coming. .

When that space that we held is starting to unfold + make way for the next phase. .

It can be a hard one, this letting go + this transition as things move to the ending stage - but noticing it as it happens can be helpful. Seeing it as it is - not wanting to hold on to or move out of any of them. .

Staying present within them and watching them as they unravel + unfold. .
.
I think I'm in an ending phase right now. Things don't seem to stick, they come + as soon as they have formed they start to dissolve again. It can be unsettling but like the waves in the ocean , like the flowers of summer, like the leaves on trees, clouds in the sky - you just observe them + watch them come + watch them go. We don't try or expect them to stay all year round?

It is not the leaves or the flowers that we hold on to but the roots + the earth around them that we cultivate, that we nourish. .

It is the foundation underneath it all. We enjoy + admire the beauty of the seasons + what they bring as they pass but it is the foundation that holds it together. .

It is what keeps it alive + where the true importance, wisdom, life + power lies.

Ongoing sleep deficiency can affect how you think, react, learn, work and get on with other people. 
Sleep For Your Brain:

Sleep helps your brain rest and prepare for the next day. Your brain spends from 14-18 hours per day active depending on your work day and resting time while still awake. Studies also show that a good nights sleep improve learning. 
Sleep for Physical Health:

Sleep plays a very important role in your physical health. Sleep helps in the repair of your heart and blood vessels. Sleep deficiency is linked to many health problems including strokes, heat disease, kidney disease, high blood pressure and diabetes. 
Exercise and Sleep:

Good quality exercise can lead good sleep. As little as 10 mins aerobic activity a day can improve your sleep quality so get moving, even if its just a quick 10 minute walk in the evening or on your lunch break!

Sleep is also extremely important if you train daily. Sleep helps build muscle and burn fat! So get your sleep!
