Here’s the other school project I had to do. For this project, I decided I was going to animate ‘The Celebration of Life’ and then project that animation on to the actual painting which would be hung up in the class, which is on the second slide :) I think I referenced this project a few times in previous captions. I went into this not particularly enthused but I left it very inspired by what I had done and what I can now do with other paintings in the future, if I wanted.
For the things I do already, animation has not at all been in my wheelhouse. I’ve always been kind of fascinated by the idea of bringing my paintings to life, but I didn’t know how to do it. There was a steep learning curve, I went into this thinking I could animate it in all these different ways (which is way I had all these layers I didn’t end up using). As it turns out your opportunities are limited if your picture is in portrait (unless you can find a way to generate images of what both sides of the head look like :) ). But I could animate the light behind the person, I could animate the eyes and make her blink. AND I have all of the data saved so if I wanted to do more to this I could. I was considering finding a way to make the shiny parts of her jewelry shine and stop in accordance with the light behind her.
This painting has been a long time pet project of mine, even four and a half months after its completion I want to add more to the artwork, and anyway I can do that in the future I’ll consider it.

Las tres primeras cajas se las dejó en el pasillo, pero ella insistió que ahí molestaban, que las entrara al dormitorio para usarlas de velador y tener donde poner la radio, si no es mucha molestia porque la radio es mi unica compañía dijo, arrebolada con cara de cordera huacha, mi mirando las chispas de sudor que encintaban su frente. Las restantes se las fue distribuyendo en el espacio vacío de su imaginación como si fuese un set cinematográfico, diciendo: por aquí Carlos, frente al ventanal, no carlos, tan juntas no, que parecen ataúdes, mas al centro, Carlos, como mesitas ratonas, Paradas no, Carlos mejor acostadas o de medio lado, Carlos, mas a la derecha, perdón, quise decir a la izquierda. ¿Estás cansado? Descansemos un rato, ¿Quieres un café? .
