DAY 2 - Mop Chop💇🏽♀️ The last time I had my hair cut was October 2017... I love my long hair but when it’s got to go it’s got to go😢 My hair has only ever been cut by one person because that’s the kind of fussy gal I am and for this challenge it’s being cut by someone new - no pressure!!🙈 I am putting my complete trust in Luke who is the man with the scissors - fingers crossed I don’t upset him in between now and then else I could be in trouble✂️ A massive thank you to @compton_hair for this challenge🤗 #ChallengeMeIn2019

This time of year is busy with meetings, luncheons, and holiday parties; it would be easy to put my training schedule aside until the new year. But I’m trying hard to stay on track by switching my schedule around and fitting my runs in where I can. So this week Tempo Tuesday was on a Monday: 5 min warmup / 10 min tempo pace / 2 min recovery / 10 min tempo pace / 5 min cool down . . .
32:04 | 5.55 km | 5:47 pace
I can’t comfortably settle into a chapter where my goals are supposed to slow down.
Parenting is a gift because it shows me areas in my life where I need to grow, and it brings me joy and balance and shows me what’s most important in life. This is parallel with running. The challenges, the obstacles, the time it takes to accomplish things, the joy, the hard days, the good days, the realities of it all! ————- Remember your family life, who you are as a mom is not supposed to look like anybody else. ————- Inspired by Sally McRae
Today I didn’t want to run. But I have to grind it out and I don’t make excuses - what would I be teaching my kids? I ate 4 miles for lunch! Now it’s time to squish my little bambinos all night by the fire!
What are you training for? What was your Monday journey? #momlife#runch
If you're not too sure on what to get your fellow fit friend for Christmas, then maybe consider getting them some runners. Help motivate them into the new year and keep your workouts together fun! 💕⠀

When I spontaneously made this fitness page on 11/29/18 I did a poll and my story won over my 2019 goals. I will share my fitness goals for 2019, but I’ll go ahead and share my story now.
Whew, it’s taking a lot for me to be so open with the public about this, because this is something I hardly ever share. ⚠️ it will be pretty lengthy lol.

Growing up I was always a bit bigger than those around me. By the time I was in 6th grade I was wearing adult sizes. I was confused then as to why I no longer was in children sizes when I wasn’t even a teenager yet. My step dad would always tell me i need to lose weight. He would indirectly tell me that I should stop eating something. One thing he didn’t do was tell me WHY & also tell me what I need to do so I wouldn’t be “Fat.” Not telling me why negatively impacted me mentally. In addition, growing up when social media was on a come up didn’t make it any better. I only interacted with people online and i looked to them for a sense of validation. I went through times when i had extremely low self-esteem, depressed, suicidal, etc. I’ve been teased and called catfish because all I’d ever post on social media was pictures of my face. One thing I did know was that I had a nice face & skin. It’s so crazy because i even used apps to make me look smaller and alllllll!!! Note that i was only a teenager smh. I still remember when someone on MySpace told me I looked like a pig! 😭 At this point in my life i was roughly 232lbs. 😫

In HS the social media phase continued.
It wasn’t until the end of my HS LIFE I began to walk and make small changes like only drinking water. Some of the weight fell off and i promised to never go back to where i came from (at this point i was around 196 lbs).

In college was when I began to kinda work out. My eating habits was horrible because 1. I was broke 2. I was not knowledgeable.
Staying in the gym help me to maintain my weight and not gain the freshman 15. Actually, i lost about 8 lbs my first year of college. I became pretty confident around this time. (Continued in the comments)
Back in south Florida today and managed to get 6 miles in this morning with my lovely and festive wife! @the4bz and I were happy to be back in Jacksonville this past weekend but wished we had found time to run some of our old running routes downtown. The weather was a bit of a mess yesterday morning too. Don’t seem to be having that problem here though! It’s beginning to look a lot like (a green) Christmas! 🎄 🎅 ☃️ 🎁
Couldn’t be happier for my coach and more importantly mate with the launch of his new website. Put a lot of work into creating his brand and this is just the beginning. Any fitness related queries or questions he’s the first person I message.

#Repost @shpfitness with @get_repost
Finally, after about 6 months of ‘trying’ to do my website I’ve got it up and running! Very simple for now but will improve in time.
I’m aiming to write a weekly blog post on here covering a variety of strength and conditioning or sports science subjects or just simply updating how the previous week has gone and sharing client successes. I will share with you guys accordingly!
I appreciate I haven’t been very active online recently. The nature of the role at Southampton FC means I can’t share content from there and with that I film everything on my iPhone which has seen better days means Hampshire college and SHP private clients content has been lower. I aiming to be back with regular content in the new year and hope the blog post and website will help to generate new and informative content for you guys and to keep you updated.
Please check out the page - www.shpfitness.co.uk and feeling like a true instagrammer, the link is in my bio.
How stressed are you? Do you have pain somewhere? Help yourself understand how pain works and learn how to fix it.
In this analogy, you have placed all of your stressors into the bucket. Now when the bucket overflows it means you have tried to take on too many stressors - and then you die! Luckily, this bucket has a coping mechanism, so here is a valve or a hole in the side of the bucket. The hole prevents the bucket from overflowing, but the trade-off is that anything that comes out of the valve is a negative output (usually in the form of pain or disease). The concept is that your brain and body cannot keep taking in a bunch of stressors and just expect to vanish, they have to go somewhere! So if you feel pain and there is nothing structurally wrong, you’re probably stressed and the pain you feel is your brain’s way of telling you you need to change something. .
Little does the majority realize that pain DOESN'T always equal injury. Its just the brains way of telling you that you need to change something to lower your stress threshold. Bad movement is also a huge stress, that's why when I teach my clients to do a neurology drill in say their hand, it will help lower the pain their feeling in their foot.
My thoughts on the new workout program!! 👇👇👇
Okay so first of all this is a program that has a step and I haven't done a step workout since the 80s classic videos and classes I did when I was 14 so I'm absolutely loving it!!! .
And let me tell you it's nothing like those!!! .
This program has been completely transformed and reinvented for 2019!!! .
It was 15-minute workout as a trial workout and I had so much sweat dripping off of me and just 15 minutes! .
The moves took a hot second to master but once I did it was really easy to follow along either with or without the step! I really think that it's great for beginners, intermediate or advanced fitness levels as you can add the risers to your step to make it more challenging or do it without the step for intro level. Check out my stories to see some of the moves!
Overall I really enjoyed it and I think it's going to be a really fun 6 week program. I'm really excited for my VIP clients to get first-hand look at what this program is and for me to be able to support them on their journey when we start January 14th. .
I've seen some really great results from the test groups that have come out and now I know what all the hype is about I am absolutely in love with it!! 💜🙋 I can totally see how you can lose weight and really tone up your stomach, your legs, that booty and your arms!! #hellomuscles .
I'm doing a live video work out on Saturday morning if you want to try this for yourself!! I've got 25 spots for you guys to join me please comment below so I can send you the link and we can work out together!!! 😘
Hope you find the time to workout today and move your body!!! Remember that taking care of ourselves is priority numero uno and then we can take care of everyone else in our lives that depends on us!! Because that's what we do #momlife .
Sending so much love and respect on this Monday!!
What do you attach your SELF WORTH to? 🤷🏻♀️
Is it your achievements, your looks, your selflessness in helping others or your spiritual connection?
What may seem like something insignificant, being praised for certain things as a child, can have monumental influences on where we put our self-worth as adults.
We know deep down that we are each worthy as we are. There is nothing we have to do or be in this world in order to ‘prove’ our worth.
But the way we are brought up can unintentionally lead us to believe that we need to look externally for validation of our worth.
In case you did have any doubt, I want you to know:
You are worthy just as you are.
You are enough.
I invite you to sit with that. See if you can fully bath in, soak up and enjoy your own presence for just a moment.
How GOOD does that feel??
I was made aware of this concept of putting our self-worth externally and the common ways we do it through the expert @danajames ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can take her Feminine Archetype Quiz online to see what your tendency is in terms of where you put your self-worth.
I'm The Ethereal. And I tend to wear the masks of the other three as well. Which one are you?😘
