Hit the slopes today ! We have been so go go go so it was a much needed play day🏂🎿❄️ something so grounding about the fresh mountain air ⛰ fun fact I fell in love with my man in the Canadian mountains 😍
Started with a closed road due to bad accident had an adventurous almost hour plus detour, saw a beautiful sun rise, gave thanks for my safe family, skied hard all day even in big winds and ended with smiles, pizza and happy family what more could I want!! #makingfamilymemories#thredboski#funinthesnow#littleshredders
That time we attempted the snow • and left with two kids on the verge of hypothermia. Ok so to be fair it was a last minute call to dash up the mountain as soon as we got into town & before the wether closed in for the next few days. It literally clouded over and dropped temp while we were there. Though the mountain was closed, we still had a chance to make foot prints in the snow, throw a few snow balls and grab some “kids meet the snow for the first time” pics. Sure we put boots and jackets and beanies on the kids but we should have decked them out in a few more layers as if we were literally spending the morning at Happy Valley because it got so cold so fast. Although Anker took an hour to thaw out and Skyla ended up having nightmares about cold ice, it was definitely worth driving up for a few fun moments.
The real reason for heading to snow for the day was my son Callum. He really wanted to do a 🎿 lesson. So I booked him in at the Mt Baw Baw kids club for a 3hr lesson. He was definitely much better on skis than me🤣. In 3 hours he learnt the basics and now wants to go back to practice. He is asking me to buy him his own 🎿. But I told him it’s best to rent them at this stage. @mtbawbaw was pretty busy on Saturday (the last weekend of school holidays). We almost missed out on Callum’s ski lesson as the traffic getting up to the ticketing gate was pretty bad setting us back about 30-40min. Then once inside the resort the ski gear rental shop was chockablock with people wanting to resent clothing snow gear. So we ran/slid our way to the class thankfully the staff was kind enough to take him in even though they had already started his class. He enjoyed learning the skills and never once said he has had enough. I highly recommend these classes for kids. Kids learn these skills so quickly unlike us adults.😜
Anisha didn’t want to take lessons. She wanted to go #tobogganing only. Given that we only had 3-4hrs of the day left we just had fun tobogganing. Once Callum finished his class they both got to play together for about an hour. So it’s probably better if you are there overnight. You will get to really enjoy the snow and for us Melbournians who doesn’t get to experience snowing you may get that chance too. .
