Two years ago I spontaneously signed up for my first half marathon. In honor of a late #medalmonday post, here is all my bling I’ve earned since then. .
2️⃣ half marathons
1️⃣ trail race
1️⃣ Full Marathon!
Super stoked to add more medals and awesome experiences to my collection! #oneruncanchangeyourday#manyrunscanchangeyourlife

I'm a Marathoner!! Feels so good to finally be able to say that.
Over a year of training, that all lead to Sunday the 14th of October @melbmara and what an experience it was!
During the build I completed 4 half marathons - @greatoceanroadrunfest
@geelonghalf-marathon and one very hilly 13.5KM Harvest Run in the Yarra Valley!
Some challenges during the journey - Stress Fracture, knee injury, knocked over by a overly friendly dog on a run and the unexpected costs involved in the sport, for example needing to buy 5 pairs of running shoes inside of a year, event costs and ofcourse photos and additional running gear. I had to make a separate bank account just for running needs.
The run itself - Simply, I made a rookie error and went out to hard to early! It would be easy to say this was due to excitement of the day but most likely it was my full mara inexperience. So much so I was seconds off my best half mara pace, my second rookie error was having a water in one hand, a gateroide in the other and accidentally tipping the gateroide all over myself (hence my wet attire) and a very sticky last 12KM's. Some lessons were deffently learnt!! I managed to crawl my way up to the front of the pack at the start line (way out of my league with the talent shoulder to shoulder with me) right next to the starting cannons that rang in my ears for the first KM but I managed a decent start amd found a good group of runners to tackle the course with. The first 5, 10 and 15KM check points flew by and I was feeling great, like the training I had put in was timed to perfection. Then I hit the 21KM mark where I realised I had gone way to hard, but me being me, I didn't listen to what my head and body were saying and pushed my body to what I soon discovered was almost breaking point. (see the rest in comments for those who have hung in there)
because the very best weekend of the entire year is this weekend: @freepmarathon weekend😍 AND because, no, you did not run a marathon if you don’t tell at least one person every day that you’ve ran a marathon ;) -
this week every year since running it in 2015 I can’t help but reminisce on the emotions of marathon training🏃🏻♀️it’s hard to understand and likely sounds over-dramatic if you haven’t been through it but it’s by far the hardest and most rewarding thing I’ve ever done and taught me so much more than any other experience ever has. I have yet to feel an emotion greater than what I felt I crossing that finish line—literally not a single feeling compares😭 to anyone running in the half or the full this weekend: GOOD LUCK YOU GOT THIS IM ROOTING FOR YOU⭐️🏅
I have to say big THANK YOU to this “stranger” who has became as “my friend” now.
Somehow we met each other a day before the #marathon event, had a conversation and then she asked me to join her and I just said yes without hesitations.
Then I just decided to sign in for the full marathon 😂 after got my number for the marathon I called my parents, told them that I’ve signed in for full marathon and I gave their names and numbers if there was something gonna happen to me 😂 they were shocked 😂🤣 all my friends were a bit confused 😆 because I’ve never ever told or talked about the marathon before, I just went to the gym, do my workout and I thought I should be ready enough to run the marathon and yes I did it!
I’ve achieved one of my #biggest#goals 🏅😄☺️ I swear YOU CAN DO ANYTHING WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO/BE/HAVE, our believing is so #strong and #powerful , believe it, just fully believe that you can do anything. Be in love with what you do, whatever is it in front of you because the power of loving is such strong energy. 💙
For all the details during the run I’ll post it on my blog! #grazmarathon2018#grazmarathon#fullmarathon#fullmarathonfinisher
