Little man started fussin’ right before I finished my workout. So, to cheer him up I let him lie on the mat and play with my hair, which always elicits a smile and giggle from him. ☺️

Thankful its Midweek! I laced up for 8 trail miles but ended up with 9 because I did a little extra on my hill repeats. The middle miles felt effortless. I am thankful for that, and the extra mile in the bank.

. 🌟 Did you know that not all of your daily water has to come solely from drinking H2O. Consider a bowl of soup during the cold weather months! It's another option to keep warm and hydrated. This soup is low in sodium and fully nutritious because its base isn't from a stock or broth. I used plain filtered water as my base and it turned out beautifully. .
. 🌟Details: I sauteed 1 small red onion, 4 garlic cloves, 1 green bell pepper, 1/4 cup carrots in a touch of olive oil and cooked until tender. Then added 6 cups of plain filtered water to my pot along with 1 cup broccoli, 1 cup cauliflower and 4 zucchini with French thyme, parsley and sea salt to taste. I simmered until veggies became tender and then turned off my heat.
After cooking I blended all of the veggies in my Breville immersion blender right in the pot until everything was smooth.
I added 1/4 cup Basmati rice, chopped red bells, parsley, jalapeno and a bit of hot Trader Joes organic crusty French bread. ·

If you’re trying to lose weight, calories DO count.
And the quality of the calories matter even more when it comes to your health.
Or your body just feeling full.
These are the decisions we have to think about.
I’m all about life quality.
That’s my choice.
We live with our food choices.
Our bodies feel them.
If I had 200 calories to use, I’d go for the oats and blueberries.
That’s a filling meal right there!
5 years ago I would have gone for those jelly beans first.
But I now know that after eating them, I’d be hungry again with 15-30 minutes.
And I would also probably feel somewhat crappy later in the day.
Because that’s what a pure sugar treat sometimes does to me now that I eat on the healthier side.
It drains my energy.
I choose to feel good.
I spent too many years feeling low because of what I put in my body.
I choose to fuel myself with that good energy.
With SOME exceptions!
Because I still do treat myself. 😊
Keepin it simple. Not just with this yummy smoothie bowl, but with life in general. Sometimes all the extra over thinking is the downfall. At least for me it is, I become nit picky and strive for perfection- which doesn’t exist, so basically, it phucks me. Simple training, simple nutrition, extraordinary results. ❤️

Day 11: Ice cream 🍦
I looove chocolate ice cream but clearly it’s made from ‘cream’ and that isn’t too great for the gut on a daily basis so I make my own ice cream using protein powder (Arbonne’s Vegan protein powder of course!) 2 scoops of Arbonne’s Chocolate Protein Powder
1/2 scoop of Arbonne’s Fibre Boost
3/4 cup of cashew / almond milk
A dollop of almond butter
A teaspoon of vanilla extract
A few berries
A little ice .....whizz it...for a long time if you want it smooth and voila! Chocolate ice cream...with pea, rice and cranberry protein...you would never know!
Once a month we have a girls dinner night with @_hannahjo716 The month of your birthday you get to pick, we missed November so this cutie got to pick last night. She chose pizza! .
I’m on week 3 of a low carb, high fat aka Keto, lifestyle change. I’ve learned very quickly that my body definitely prefers it and functions so much better being in a ketosis state. I did have a salad that was delicious and filling, but I also decided to indulge on a few cheesy breadsticks (totally not Keto approved) But I enjoyed them. A little while after dinner I did check my Keytone levels. I was very much still in my regular Ketosis state!!! 💪🏻 Who says you can’t indulge once in a while!!! .

🍌 1 mashed ripe banana
💪🏼 32g of vanilla protein powder
🧁 2g sweetener of choice
🍎 90g unsweetened apple sauce
🌰 5g unsweetened cocoa powder

Not only do I feel better, but I can see the tangible benefit my money has on an actual person’s life, rather than it disintegrating into the cash registers of a grocery store to be eventually turned over to the behemoth corporations who commit to poisoning our country.

3 things I do daily that keep me going and functioning at my best. 💪🏼 Going to the gym or working out at home. It not only helps me get stronger physically, but helps my stress levels. I have so much going on from the moment I wake up til the moment my head hits the pillow so having the ability to workout is a vital part of my daily routine. 🍽 Proper nutrition and having my meals prepped fuels my body and makes it very convenient with my busy schedule. Plus, I don’t have to worry about what is in the food I am eating when dining out. (In moderation I enjoy a glass or two of wine and eating out) 80% of your results come from what you eat and drink daily. You can’t workout a bad diet. 📖 Reading at least 10 pages a day of a book that will help you grow as a person and learn is just as important. I also will listen to audio books and podcasts throughout the day too. The book pictured is my current read and it is one you should totally add to your reading list. I barely started it but I can already tell it is a great one! -
It is all about putting in the work and being consistent. In the beginning change can be rough, but if you stay the course, it will pay off. You will find that you are happier and able to handle the stresses in your life better. .
Consistency with anything gives you results. I remember back in May 2018 my 1 rep max was 100kg, with 3 comps in between now and then and being In Calorie deficit. I’ve slowly worked my way up with eating more to gain more and eating the right macros for my body. I have pushed 100kg tonight 3x5 reps and felt super strong because I stuck to my goals in the gym and my diet was the most important to me to have good fuel in my workouts so I get my results. Balance in life is great but with anything that you really want to achieve there is no such thing as balance just hard work, dedication, commitment to your happiness in the end of your success, strong mentally and physically, but you have to want it that bad that it’s the only thing you know you’ll reap your reward at the end! Today’s FDOE (full day of eating) ▶️▶️
I always start w/ a green smoothie, and then I had a little breakfast burrito before my workout.🌯
Salad w/ chicken, cherry tomatoes, bell pepper, avocado, and I made my own dressing (1/2 lemon juice, 3 garlic cloves, 1 tsp. ACV, and black pepper)🥗
Salmon, sautéed veggies, brown rice, and some roasted potatoes.🥔🐟
Dried mangoes, and of course, 2 chocolate chip cookies.🍪 I’ve included my macros for the day at the last slide. Yes, I had over 2500 cals. And I’m okay with it. I might’ve went a little crazy with the snacks today but hey, it’s called balance. 🤷🏻♀️ also, it’s #bulkingseason amiright?
I think it’s a good sign that I’ve felt excited to work on my business and at the end of the day I feel motivated to work on my own health
I fully believe that we create our own realities and that so many of us are blessed with the privilege to be able to choose our own lifestyles
No matter what we choose, it still takes effort to make it work. What may look easy from an outside perspective isn’t always the reality
So I guess the question to ask ourselves is: is the lifestyle we have chosen worth the work it takes to have it. Is your lifestyle sustainable long term, or is it a means to an end?
