There are a lot of things I will do to encourage my kids to eat a Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie.
One of which is to put it in a pretty glass and make it look fancy with cut up strawberries stuck to the side. (Which.. I have to say is a LOT harder than it looks !! Kudos to all those amazing food artists who make it look so effortless!) So, why do I want them to have this smoothie so much ?
Is it just because berries are good ? And spirulina and barley Grass Juice powder rock? Or because cilantro tastes yummy ?(haha. Not to them!) Or dulse is a pretty colour ?
Well.. all those are darn good reasons. But the truth is more like this :
I have many passions. Food, healing , books , stationary, art, positive psychology, all kinds of things to do with mysticism, and advertising. (seriously. I LOVE looking at ads !) But one that I got into that I was going to make a career at was Photography. .
I spent so many hours taking photos , since there was only film available at the time, I would developed the black and white film myself. .
I also loved it so much I worked in a photo processing store. .
And then, I went to college for photography. .
In the college I went to, we developed the film in tiny unventilated cubicles. We used 4X5 sheet film to take photos with massive 4*5 cameras (think Ansel Adams type camera. Except his was 8*10)
These were processed in open rectangular baths.
In small tiny completely black closets with no air circulation.
Needless to say...I breathed in a LOT of chemicals.
We developed the prints in a large air space that held lots of enlargers and people. And chemical baths for the prints.
I breathed in chemicals there too. And stuck my hands in chemicals. Then ate my lunch. .
.by the end of the summer after first year of school I was so sick I couldn't get off the couch.
Hours of sleeping. Get up. Drink some water. Eat some food. Back to sleep.
I went back 2nd year. There were skull and cross bone stickers with a warning on the small film closets. But no fans or ventilation.
I went to school a couple of days.. got sick. Stayed away for a week.
By Winter holiday break I was so far behind ⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️⬇️
I’m looking for 3 or more ladies to take part in my #LYB mermaid challenge!

🌶 Fifty shades of red 🌶 These come from 3 little chili plants. After I harvest them, I leave them out to dry on the sunny kitchen window sill. They keep for months. I love adding them to fried rice dishes for that little extra kick!
