today’s run was harder… So nice to see my friend @gretchee11 out there cycling 🚴♀️ in the quiet
the benefits of working hard before the traffic and people get up are endless
Just you and your breath , the birds 🦅
And the voice that tells you to keep going even when you want to stop.
it takes me a full seven minutes to actually warm up… To actually start liking my run .. I’d say the hardest part is getting out there because I know the first seven minutes are not going to be as pleasant as the rest of the run.
fellow runners how long does it take for you to get to your sweet spot? You know the time where it starts to feel really good ?
FOCUS (Ekaggatā in Pāli) the center of interest or activity. The state or quality of having or producing clear visual definition; pay particular attention to. Focus is definitely an essential cause in direct regard to meditation and in manifesting. If your focus is scattered, the energy movement required for the manifestation of your desired reality is also scattered and hence highly ineffective. ••
Single-minded focus cannot be created “artificially” through effort, it happens naturally when your mind and heart are pinning for a certain experience/expression (desire) in your reality – the heart and mind have to be in sync to ensure that there are no inner conflicts, but once they are in sync their focus is tremendous. The signal created by this focus is unscattered and hence is highly powerful in shifting/orchestrating energy required to manifest that desire. ••
In order to truly manifest through single-minded focus, we MUST let go of opposition to your natural desires. The desires that your mind comes up with, that syncs up with your heart, are all natural expressions of you. It’s only when you doubt these desires, suppress them, oppose them, work against them or try to force them, that “resistance” comes into play, and the natural orchestration is severely disturbed. ••
A single belief, externally conditioned in you, that opposes your natural desire is enough to block its manifestation, simply because the energy of your mind is not supporting the desire. Meaning, where your attention is what you are bringing into your life. If you are focused on negativity and what you don’t have, you’re inviting more of that into your life. If you are focused on positivity and have a spirit of gratitude you’re bringing more of that into your life.
Everything is literally everything. It’s all life-energy. Our thoughts and our focus are in direct alignment with each other... so ask I, what seeds are you planting in your life?
🌿 I’ve been thinking about how comfortable I’m feeling in my own skin at the moment. There’s a lot to be said for feeling at ease with your choices, your actions and your inner self. No more waking up with shame or regret, and feeling like I’d let myself down or worried about what I’d done the night before. 🍃
Oh and as well as feeling so comfortable IN my skin, my skin is SO much better too... The other day, an old friend I hadn’t seen in ages said I looked 10 years younger, that I looked 30 not 40.... she asked what I’d been doing!! I must say, I was pretty happy to tell her I’d gone alcohol free 💚 🍃

Just a simple bowl of goodness, full of nutrients! Eat to nourish.
Roasted chickpeas and sautéed zucchini and mushrooms on a bed of lettuce and topped with a dill dressing (made with sunflower seeds, hemp seeds, nutritional yeast, water, dill, garlic, and apple cider vinegar).
Butternut Squash Chickpea Stew 🔅
The recipe didn’t call for chicken, but I added it — sautéed some organic chicken tenders, and cut into bite size pieces. 🔅
i n g r e d i e n t s • 1 medium onion • 2 garlic cloves • 1tbsp harissa (used canned green chili’s instead) • 1tsp cinnamon • 1/2tsp ground coriander • 1 large butternut squash chopped • 2 tomatoes chopped (or canned) • 1 can chickpeas • 1c green peas • 1/4c flat leaf parsley • s&p to taste • I also added 2 chopped zucchini’s 🔅
d i r e c t i o n s • sauté onion, add garlic cloves & cook for 1 min • stir in harissa, cinnamon & coriander & cook for 30 seconds • add squash, tomatoes, & any other veggies • stir and add 2 cups water or broth • bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, cover & cook for 30 min • add chickpeas, peas, parsley, cooked chicken, and continue to cook uncovered for 10 min • add s&p to taste • top with fresh parsley, or anything else you want 😋
Today started with Day 1 of a new thing, and ended with Day 1 of half marathon training...just a couple miles🏃🏻♀️. Oh...and I turned 36!!🎉 I can’t believe I’m already in the latter 1/2 of 30’s, but I still feel like I’m in my 20’s. Self care isn't selfish. It's the most valuable gift you can give yourself.
I wish I would have felt this way years ago. This was the first time I went on vacation and felt 100 percent comfortable and confident in who I am. The funny thing is, it's not the "thinnest" or "skinniest" I have been either. I'm full of flaws including stretch marks and cellulite and not the clearest skin! However I sported my two piece and whatever outfits I wanted because I felt great and beautiful and sexy and for once I didn't care what anyone else would think. I am a mom of three who is proud of the body I have now, stretch marks and all. I have also worked really hard from the inside out to get to this place.
When I say self care I don't just mean getting sweaty in a workout. I mean being honest with myself, reading personal development and asking myself what is important to me. Eating really good foods for my body not just for my tastebuds or what emotional state I'm in. Surrounding myself with incredibly beautiful souls who only make my days better. Dropping all the BS I have told myself over the years and just loving who I am in this moment while working towards all the things I want to accomplish. And it's only going to get better.
I don't share this to pat myself on the back. In fact I would have NEVER dreamed of sharing a picture like this two years ago. I share because if I can help just even one woman get out of the hole she's in and get to place of self love 🙏 it's WORTH IT!!! I have been there love! Most days are not pretty by any stretch of the imagination.
Sometimes (really most days- if I’m being honest) I just can’t get it together.
-My list barely has anything checked off.
-I’m not even close to showered; in fact I’m still in yesterday’s makeup. -I had an attitude problem (with myself) most of the day.
-Heck, I’m not even sure who ate their dinner, because I let them take their quesadillas outside 🤷🏼♀️
Despite everything I may have accused myself of lacking today, each and everyone one of them wrapped their arms around me tight tonight all on their own. .
That genuine love.
Such a humbling reminder of just what I need to start extending to myself.
Today may not go down in the books as one of your top ten days either but no matter how much you wish you had done differently I am certain you left another small imprint on their hearts. Little by little you are filling them up for that day when they must inevitably fly on their own.
Rest tonight knowing that YOU ARE INCREDIBLE and when that sunrises again you will undoubtedly be refreshed by His grace and mercy and be given another beautiful mess of a day.
