Thinking about quitting your smoking habit but unsure how? #Acupuncture Is Very Effective To Help #StopSmoking .
"Acupuncture has been used to help combat addiction and curb cigarette cravings for a long time. Many people have had success and now research is supporting these claims.
In a recent study, 'Alternative Smoking Cessation Aids: A Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials,' researchers gathered data from 14 different studies to see which alternative techniques helped patients stop smoking. The acupuncture studies examined 823 different patients. The researchers concluded that both acupuncture and hypnotherapy may help patients quit smoking. The scientific world is far from definitively recommending acupuncture for smoking cessation, but more and more research shows that it does help many people.
Acupuncture helps with smoking addiction in many ways. It stops jitters, curbs cravings, lessens irritability and restlessness, increases relaxation and helps detoxify the body. It can also restore balance in your constitution and jumpstart the healing process."

We keep hearing about #superfoods but many of us are unsure as to what they are. "Although there’s no set criteria as to what defines a superfood, these are foods that are jam-packed with nutrients and can help provide your body with the vitamins and minerals you need to thrive, survive and feel great. Include a few servings of these foods into your day paired with a balanced diet and regular physical activity and you’re bound to feel better than ever." What superfood are we adding to our diet this week?
"Whether you’re looking to fight free radicals or maximize the nutrients in your diet, wheatgrass should definitely be at the top of your list. #Wheatgrass is prepared from the freshly sprouted leaves of the common wheat plant and can supply tons of vitamins and minerals, including iron, calcium and magnesium. It also gives you some added chlorophyll, a plant pigment that’s loaded with health benefits. Add it to juices or smoothies for a burst of energy, try it in tablet form, or even eat it raw if you’re feeling adventurous."

Wondering some of the benefits of #acupuncture here at #friscoacu ? It can help with cancer and chemotherapy recovery! @drjoshaxe explains:
"According to the National Cancer Institute, several studies show that acupuncture can help boost immunity and speed up recovery following cancer treatments. One randomized trial, for example, found that acupuncture treatment enhanced immunity, platelet count and prevented a decrease in healthy cells after radiation therapy or chemotherapy when compared to receiving no acupuncture. Researchers reported that the patients in both acupuncture treatment groups also experienced less pain from treatments, improvements in quality of life and a decrease in various negative side effects of chemotherapy, such as nausea." #acupuncture can help with #allergies !
"During acupuncture, needles are inserted and heat or electrical stimulation is applied at precise points. A study published in the 2013 Annals of Internal Medicine showed after two months of treatment, researchers found 71% of patients who received acupuncture for allergies reported improvement in their symptoms and less use of medicine. The study's outcome showed scientists acupuncture is effective with seasonal allergies. The American Academy of Medical Acupuncture agrees saying acupuncture is a great way to minimize seasonal needs for medication. It's not a quick fix though, you'll need multiple sessions of acupuncture to feel a lasting difference."

FDA proposes for doctors to learn #acupuncture and #alternativemedicine for #painmanagement ⠀
"The Food and Drug Administration released proposed changes Wednesday to its blueprint on educating health care providers about treating pain. The guidelines now recommend that doctors get information about chiropractic care and acupuncture as therapies that might help patients avoid prescription opioids.⠀
'[Health care providers] should be knowledgeable about the range of available therapies, when they may be helpful, and when they should be used as part of a multidisciplinary approach to pain management,' the agency wrote in the proposal."⠀

You can heal your acne with #TCM .⠀
#chinesemedicine calls #acne fen ci or "white thorns." The 5 main causes are:⠀
Lung Heat, Stomach Heat, Heat Toxin, Dampness, or Emotional Disturbances. ⠀
"Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine can help clear out the heat in your body, as well as improve your digestive and immunological functions to reduce acne. The better your digestion is, the better your skin is. It’s the same for your immune system. If your immune system is run down, then your skin is going to break out more easily. Acupuncture is also great for stress. Stress hormones can trigger break-outs, so it is essential to keep those hormones balanced. You will also notice that you will be more in tune with your body and have a better understanding of what your triggers are. In addition to body acupuncture for balancing your entire system, facial points using tiny acupuncture needles can be used in the face directly to increase circulation of both blood and lymph. This will leave your skin glowing as you walk out the door after your acupuncture session!?"⠀

You might have seen this symbol before. It comes from Taoism, a religion born in China, and it has far more meaning than you probably realize. The yin is the dark swirl and the yang is the light one, and each side has a dot of the opposite color, which gives a clue to the meaning of Yin and Yang. Everything contains the seed of its opposite. Yin and yang are not total opposites, they are relative to each other. Taoists believe that the universe is made of energies, vibrations and matter, which behave differently in different contexts. Something can be yin or yang depending on lots of things. So, while wheat that's growing is yang, when it's being reaped, it's yin. A wave's crest is yang, and the trough is yin. The brake is yin to the gas pedal's yang. An eggshell is yang, the egg inside is yin. Yang is harder, stronger, brighter, and faster, but one can turn into the other or are two sides of the same coin. The sunbeams are yang in comparison to the shadows. The pitch is yang, the catch is yin. The yang starts and action and the yin receives it, completes it. Yin is the darker swirl, the female. But there is a white dot in it. And yang is the lighter, the male, but it has a black dot. Water flowing calmly in a river is yin, but when it goes over the waterfall, it's very yang. Taoism teaches that there is a power in the universe. It's higher, deeper, and truer than any other force. They call it the Tao. It means the way. It has two sides. Unlike other religions where the higher power is all good, and perhaps has an all-evil rival, Taoism teaches that we need to learn from both yin and yang. And unlike religions with gods that are personal, the higher power in Taoism is not. Taoists believe that living in harmony with the way, a person will not have to fight against the universe's natural flow. So for example, listen more, argue less. Be ready to back up or undo something, and you will make even faster progress. Don't worry about being the best, be who you are. Live simply. Complications take away from the Tao. "The wise person is flexible," Taoists say. Learning to use the Tao is what Taoism is all about, and that is why you should know your yin from your yang.
