Cocktail hour!! The Vieux Carré, which translates as "Old Square" first appeared in print in 1937 in the cocktail book: "Famous New Orleans drinks and How to Mix 'Em". This classic cocktail was created in the 1930s by bartender Walter Bergeron at the Carousel bar at the Monteleone Hotel in New Orleans. The cocktail consists of equal parts Cognac, Rye Whiskey and sweet Vermouth with a little D.O.M. Benedictine and both Angostura and Peychaud's bitters. The result is a rich and complex drink. Cheers! 🥃 (📷 @travelinggentleman)
Totally charmed by the magic, mysticism and the air of festivity of New Orleans. The 6-hr (90’s soundtracks-filled) drive was so worth it! We arrived at night and was welcomed with the parades, street musicians and parties. So fun!
New Orleans at Christmas time is magical. Walk down St. Ann Street and bask in the glow of colorful lights and bright decorations. Stand in front of St. Louis Cathedral and stare at the stars above Jackson Square and the the iron columns of its gates decorated with red velvet bows. Listen to ghost stories and bring back the time-honored Victorian tradition during Christmas time. Take it all in, wrap a scarf around your neck, and grab a hot cafe au lait and fresh powdered beignets...take a stroll through time in the beautifully dark French Quarter!
As we stride around New Orleans and the bustling sound of the French Quarter, we both have articulated about the transition of the year. Noting of the hills and the valleys we attained. At the end of the conversation, and just like every other year, we are perpetually agreeing to a few things. To continue to flourish - Spiritually, Family and Business. Which needless to say, is all there is in life 💖
