This is the back day that @mike_crowson and I did before heading to the kitchen to help with a couple thousand cookies and then box all of the cookies for shipment today. No big deal, ha. But really, we were hoping to get the cookies out ASAP so hopefully everyone that ordered would have them by Christmas! Building the engine back up for the Spartan start and stop sequence. Spartan race is all about the recovery between obstacles and the accuracy, stamina and explosive power you may  need for the obstacle. Strength is my ace up the sleeve while agility and speed are sub par. The goal is to round a few of these out before March but first and foremost is to build the engine to recover better at the moment. AROO

We needed an effective but time efficient workout this morning. Crowded gym, limited time, limited equipment, limited space = NO PROBLEM.. full body barbell complex is it ✅
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🏋🏽‍♀️All you will need is a fixed barbell and a little bit of floor space. Our full body workouts not only require strength but a high level of endurance so when choosing your weight, you want to keep in mind that there is little to no rest in between exercises.. ESPECIALLY this timer because there is NO REST.

I typically stick with heavy weights but when you’re short on equipment throwing in some body weight exercises can be a great alternative. These also help to increase mobility and core strength.

Kickback w/ pause: Try your best to keep your foot flat and not point your toes. Pause at the top for 2-3 seconds then release. Try 3-4 sets of 15/side.

Plank Jack Variation: Keep your core tight and don’t let your hips dip or rise too much. Also keep weight shifted forward through shoulders/palms. Try 4 sets of 30-45 sec.
.
Plank Tap Variation: Just like the jacks keep your core tight, hips in alignment and focus on not letting your pelvis sway side to side. Remember you can always slow down the movement or lower the rand of motion. Try 3-4 sets of 30-45 seconds.

You could even try these as a circuit, one exercise after the other 4 times through!

After missing my workout yesterday it felt GOOD to movw my body today!!!! My a$$ is still sore. DEFINITELY felt it during every squat, lunge, and sprint😂😂😂 But with the help from my #momjuice I powered through & am now a sweaty mess & feel so much better!!!! 25 mins of my day...no equipment needed...just my ipad...i didnt even wear sneakers today...and Im done!!!! love having the ability to hit PLAY anytime that works in MY day!!!! #athomeworkouts #convenient  #bestworkoutsathome

I found me a #PersonalTrainer 😻. He’s so dope😬. He’s willing to visit my AirBnB to check out my set up and set me up @ 🏡, so when I return in the #NewYear we can work from a gym! He’s given me the basics on nutrition. And most important - he has experience working with injured clients 🙏🏿.

He taught me a lot, so I’m sharing my main takeaways. My routines gotten me this far but it’s time to switch it up by adding in weights to build muscle, burn fat and challenge my bod. •
He shared the fact that my genes are in control of where I lose fat, aka whether or not my boobs stay 😦.
•
Bc my family is the first to immigrate here, I haven’t grown up seeing the various body types of the females in my family. I know most of my aunts are big and many of my cousins are small. Some may be proportionate - but I gotta FB stalk em to confirm 😅. •
So I’m pretty much venturing into the unknown but I am #HereForIt 😊.

Still hoping I don’t end up with less than a C 😧or B at that *church faints*.

It starts by asking what your goals are and which types of workouts you already enjoy. •
I chose to target core strengthening and I’m so impressed! For the first time in ever I had the strength to do #pilates without giving up! A true example of a #NonScaleVictory

Pros.: it’s s free app with the option to purchase #workoutplans. You can add #workouts to your phone’s calendar, which keeps you #accountable & #ontime! I do like that it’s more flexible than the Keep Trainer app on scheduling, but...

I still love Keep Trainers formatting! The Workouts app doesn’t transition as smoothly between workouts. It was quite confusing (tmr I will read the workout descriptions first). •
The voice and music in Keep flow seamlessly. •
But this comparison reminded me that I’ve actually gotten 2 referrals on Keep which gives me 4 weeks of Premium access! I get to do special workouts like this one for #KnockKnees.

This is important because I’m at stage in my life where I’m teaching myself to #walk again🖤something so simple we often take for granted!

Awesome Saturday morning Team Classes to kickstart the weekend! No matter how busy your schedule is, it is an absolute must that you put yourself first at least a few times a week and better yourself! That’s physically, mentally and emotionally! And it works in that order! When you know you are taking care of business and pushing yourself no matter how difficult it gets physically! It makes you stronger mentally! And when we build mental strength we build the power to control our emotions and breed positivity so much easier making us emotionally stronger than ever! So before you cry and wine about completing that burpee or having to hold that plank even though you want to collapse to your knees! Didn’t see anything while in the stand, but came in to get some work in. Bench actually felt really good today. Worked up to 225 for two sets of 10 and felt like I had at least a few more reps in the tank, but didn’t have a spotter so called it at 10. The real killer was what came after though. Dropped the weight to 135 and did a 10 second lower, quick pause, then press up quickly. 5 reps per set. Essentially each set equates to right at 1 minute time under tension. It had my pecs on fire 🔥 Control the weight and keep your pecs tight the entire lift. Gotta keep building up more work capacity so I can start pushing heavier and heavier

If you’ve been following my #instagramstories lately, you know I’ve been plugging into “live” workouts most days, in which fellow coaches + our challengers + I pretty much FaceTime through our fitness. It holds us accountable to our own goals + makes it more likely for us to push play. This morning, sleep won. Then laundry. Then weather. Then kids. Then it was almost too late. Almost.

That’s when I got a text from my friends in Wisconsin. They were starting their “live” workout, curious if any of us East Coast coaches still needed the motivation. 🙋🏻‍♀️ That would be me!! Not only was it perfect timing, but they were all plugging into my most favorite workout of all. I have no shame in changing my game if it makes my workout mood even better. And #Ripsanity does it every damn time. I felt so jazzed to be working out with girls I haven’t been in the same room with since June. I felt motivated by @shaunt. I felt my usually overflow of emotions when the cardio ass-kicking at the end was over + I burst into my usual post-Ripsanity tears. I felt like this Saturday was meant to be exactly this way. 🙌🏻

This pretty much sums up my entire thought process this morning. 😳💁🏻‍♀️👊🏻 . All through my journey I’ve had a very similar mantra. Mindset, activity and a healthy relationship with food is the equation for a good and happy life. Today was the final workout on this life hanging journey for me.... I kim kardashian cried at the end. I honestly thought I was never going to finish it, but I completed this twice and ready to prep with my PiT @kerrysfitlife and some awesome ladies for when we all do it in January! I want a moment like this for all you out there. Especially if you have doubted your worth, ability, beauty, strength, anything. This program isn’t about just physical gainz! The emotional and mental results are like no other. This has been the best few months of my life so far! My idols and inspirations have become my support system and my self saboteur has lost her power! You’ve got this! All you need to do is commit and join our support network who will be there every step of the way! 💖💖💖💖 #conqueryourmind #transformyourlife #riseupandconquer

Let me tell ya this trainer @shaunt may be known for his insanely hard workout programs BUT here’s the best thing about him; he is phenomenal at reaching deep inside you to inspire and move you to just do your best! To realize you are so much stronger than you give yourself credit for! To know that you are not to compare yourself to anyone else, not the cast on the program, not him, not your friend whose crushing it and loosing more than you; but to who you were yesterday! WHY: 🤷‍♂️ Better posture (more specifically fixes hunchbacks), strengthens the shoulder joint (injury prevention)

HOW: 🤔 Lie on your belly looking straight down to keep your head inline with your spine. Have your arms out in a T with thumbs up towards the sky. Without lifting your chest off the ground, raise your arms a couple inches off the ground, keeping them straight and feeling the muscles in the back of your shoulders activate. Lower and repeat.

DO NOT: 🙅‍♂️ Let any other part of your body assist you - your arms should be the only things moving. This is a very small and isolated movement.

👉 Now DROP THE PHONE and FIX YOUR POSTURE! You’re doing your 25 rear delt flys followed by 100 glute bridges and finishing with a 45sec plank (Are you starting to get it..?)

- [ ] Warm up 5-10 mins treadmill - [ ] Push ups. - [ ] Incline dumbbell press - [ ] Flat dumbbell press - [ ] Machine flies - [ ] Dumbbell chest press - [ ] Dumbbell pull over - [ ] 20-30 min cardio

Day2 
Leg day - [ ] Warm up 5-10 mins on treadmill - [ ] Squats - [ ] Lunges with weights. - [ ] Leg press. - [ ] Leg extensions - [ ] Hamstring curls - [ ] 20-30 mins of cardio

Day 3 
Back and arms. - [ ] Warm up 5-10 mins - [ ] Lat pull downs then immediately right after do Dumbbell curls. - [ ] Seated lateral side shoulder dumbbell raises immediately after do Triceps dumbbell kickbacks. - [ ] Tricep dips immediately after that so Dumbbell rows. - [ ] Close grip pull downs  then immediately after that do cable tricep extension. - [ ] Barbell curls. Negatives. 1 sec going up. 6 secs going down. - [ ] One arm Dumbbell Rows. Each arm then immediately right after shoulder press. - [ ] 20-30 mins cardio
