look at that face. how could you not love these old girls? im going to miss these emus terribly when they are retired 😢
many times would i skip school and catch a bus from toowoomba to brisbane just to ride the trains or hang out in queen street mall. i could get away from the shit and enjoy life during those precious moments where i was free and could do whatever i wanted. no teachers yelling at me, no schoolkids bullying me. just me, on a train.the emus are a part of my childhood.
with grandad instilling a love of trains into my brother and i from an early age, i was bound to turn out like i did. granddad himself was a rebel who skipped school to jump trains with his mates when he was a kid growing up in sydney. theres a lot of him in me, and seeing him decline has been incredibly tough on us all. please dont retire these trains just yet. i honestly dont think i could handle it.

▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ An industry legend, Chris Wilson has been at the forefront of the Australian dance industry for over 20 years. Recognised for his experience behind the turntables and as one of Australia’s most revered promoters, Chris was responsible for promotions at Cloudland, Press Club, Empire Hotel and most notably leading Saturdays at the Family Superclub since its inception.
His passion for music and ability to identify new and emerging talent both locally and internationally has seen him introducing new genres and importing some of the biggest names in the industry to the Queensland and Australian market.
Chris’s early days as a clubber in the UK witnessed the house movement that we have all come to know and love, the Dons of the early house music scene planted the seed and influenced him and his love for house! As a DJ, Chris has carried those foundations and provided discerning clubbers with upfront and underground tunes which bathed our ears every weekend for many years; he has played alongside leading interstate acts and many heavy weight internationals such as Todd Terry, Derrick Carter, Roger Sanchez, Armand Van Helden, Tom Novy, Axwell, and Pete Tong.
When you live and breath a club you are saturated with a melting pot of global house music. This was again, inspirational and influential to broadened his musical taste in house music. He has moved forward and immersed himself with the ‘sounds of house’ as we know it today. It can be deep, rolling, wobbly, tribal, techy or dubby, it can be head nodding house or shoulder shrugging techno but it has to get me, it has to influence you and it has to make you want to dance, and most of all you have to feel it…. Chris Wilson, a dear friend of Dragonfruit, is looking forward to sharing his passion with you on the 20th……. nuff said!!! ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
