#LetMeTellYouAStory I took this picture about three years ago. My Mom cooked it for me. Alhamdulillah waktu tumpeng kecil ini selesai, saya langsung mengabadikannya. Who knows, kalo ternyata ini tumpeng terakhir buat saya... (Jadi ga ada salahnya kan motret makanan sebelum di makan?) karena setahun setelah itu, setelah itu, tahun ini dan selamanya ga akan pernah ada lagi nasi kuning persis seperti ini baik dari segi bentuk maupun "rasa". Mungkin saya bisa bikin sendiri atau pesan ke ahli masak tapi pasti ga akan pernah sama. Hey, saya posting ini ga untuk sedih-sedih kok (walaupun tetep nulisnya sambil narik napas dalam-dalam terus), justru buat nginget-inget betapa kenangan itu sangat berharga. Sepiring nasi kuning beserta lauknya terlihat sederhana, tapi itu yang selalu saya minta ke Ibu untuk buatin di hari-hari tertentu. Sangat spesial, dan hanya Ibu yang bisa whole package lahir batin.

I trust, implicitly. Without qualifications or justifications, that there was a reason or frameworks of reasons, that led you to believe you needed to shrink your body. Because I believe in body liberation and body autonomy, my goal is not to *get* you to believe differently or to *get* you to change (though, this often does occur). My goal is not to replace toxic external messages with yet another external message (my own). My goal is to help you to connect with, believe, and trust YOUR OWN internal voice....EVEN IF that voice is telling you that what you need to survive is to continue clinging to “unhealthy” behaviors (in quotes purposely). I DO care about your diet and want to make room and space for you to share about it. Tell me all the ins and outs. Tell me how it comforts you and pains you. Tell me what it’s gotten you through and what it has prevented you from experiencing. Tell me what it would take to let it go. How scary that feels to consider and how liberating that feels to consider. There’s no rush here. No timeline. No finish line. No right or wrong way to recover. Even if recovery means holding on to parts of the disorder or parts of the trauma.
But know this: I do care about all of it. And want to listen. And want to make space. No, you’re not a “bad” client for still wanting to diet. You’re not a “bad” client for still wanting to lose weight. You’re not a “bad” client if you’re still doing either. I trust that you are doing the best you can at this point in time. Perhaps, tomorrow will be different. Until then, tell me about your diet.

The vibrant colors of fresh fruit preserves remind us of before school breakfast and after school treats. Jams and preserves bring back so many fond memories of our childhood.
