Yesterday was World Diabetes Day and what better way to celebrate than an Açai Berry smoothie bowl with a sprinkle of ❤️ Diabetes is a chronic condition associated with abnormally high levels of sugar (glucose) in the blood. Insulin produced by the pancreas lowers blood glucose. Absence or insufficient production of insulin, or an inability of the body to properly use insulin causes diabetes.
I lived a day with diabetes using a Saline solution as “Insulin” and Pump to administer “insulin” in my abdomen. I was carb counting, entering my numbers, poking myself, setting up the pump, using the pump in public and sleeping with this pump on. And let me tell you it is not easy !
Therefore to all my people with diabetes, my love for you is unconditional 💕

What I like about Japanese breakfasts and lunches is that they can have so many parts. I ate this in a shopping mall restaurant next to what appeared to be a few tables of business meetings, after freezing my ass off walking around Tokyo all morning. The hot miso and rice with delightfully oily fish, greens and hot tea brought the feeling back into my frozen fingers and face and was a welcome departure from the typical western two-punch lunch of a bloated sandwich and a side.
I didn’t know that I was a chicken salad chick; but I ammmmm!!! So many different flavors! Spicy, savory, sweet just whatever you like. Their sides are the bomb! I think Panera got some major competition when it comes to the soup. .
