Layla killing bugs among the many totes in our living room. Preparing to move yet again has stirred up this yearning in me to have a forever home. The hubby and I have talked a lot about it over the past couple of years but it has always seemed so far out of reach. This move will be to a temporary place but it is our goal that the next one will be permanent! #2019goals#foreverhome#movingsucks
This sweetheart is looking for his furever home!! He's 5 years old, calm, and incredibly sweet. If you're looking to adopt, please consider this sweetheart. His name is Elmer and he is located at the Bowling Green, KY Humane Society. #adopt#goodboy#foreverhome
The building we found when we chopped down the trees needs a serious bit of tlc. Not sure whether it’s going to be a log-shed or just a store yet. Currently feeling we have too many jobs and not enough time. I’d like to clone hubby but he’s resisting. #foreverhome#hiddentreasures
Recently a 7 month miniature pincher was brought for evaluation. My client was told by the couple whom they adopted the dog from that he was found in the street wondering with his mother and that was all they knew. Initially when brought home he was quiet and shy but within days he became comfortable and began showing signs of aggression. . .
Upon evaluating the dog, I guesstimated he was older than previously believed (15 months) with a Veterinarian guessing the same. After the first week, the dog was still shy, easily agitated when corrected and exhibited dog aggression. . .
After my evaluation I pressed my client to see if they can get more information and to let the couple know he was much older than they had said. After much pressing, the couple had agreed that they withheld information on the dog and the story given was not all true. . .
The couple stated they felt bad that they did not raise the dog properly and that he had gotten out of hand, and simply wanted to find him a better home. They agreed to never properly socializing the dog and didn’t have the means to pay for training. Their idea of socializing was bringing the dog around other dogs to see but he was so aggressive that they just took him home. When they had guest over, the dog would begin to bark and even bit someone that they just put him in a room without ever correcting the behavior. .
This is a classic story of the quote above, both socializing and training go hand and hand but lacking in one department will only lead to failure in all. Getting a dog requires an investment of patience and time with sometimes having to pay for service to help remedy the situation. For those seeking help, there are avenues to explore but you have to do some research in finding help. I personally help my clients giving deep discounts to those that truly don’t have the means and need help and are willing to do the work to get their dogs trained and socialized. . .
It’s that time of year. Afternoon spent clearing more of the back paddock, beef in the Aga, hot bath, wine poured, candles lit. Bring on our first Autumn in the house... 🍂 🔥 🍁 #foreverhome#tenyearproject#myaga#autumn 🍁
Today’s the big day!!! The Gabster went to her forever home. I hate to be biased, but this little garbage kitten was my favorite foster. She was my shadow, my sleeping “scarf”, my football buddy, and just a joy to have around. I couldn’t be happier with the home she’s going to, and I know they’ll keep me updated. Happy trails Gabby! #fosterkittens#arbsfurbabies#foreverhome#snugglebuddy#kittensofinstgram#catnap
Hi dog rescue buds. As you know way better than us, it’s hard for ugly dogs to get adopted, so what if we used our billboard to do an ‘Ugly Dog Adoption Drive’? Let’s give the toothless dogs, the hairless dogs, the 3 legged smelly, butt-dragging weird dogs a loving family and a forever home. What do you think?
We’re a single billboard advertising agency in Oakland located on 220th Street + Mandela Pkwy, and we’d love to use our billboard to change a dog’s life.
This special girl is going to her phenomenal new family this a.m. I’m so excited and sad at the same time. She is still sad from losing her family a few weeks ago but has settled into our family very well. I know she won’t understand why yet another family let her go. My heart breaks because I can’t explain that she’s done nothing wrong and that I was just meant to be her temporary mama while I found the perfect forever home for her. I wish I could explain that I’m letting her go BECAUSE I love her not because I don’t. But with the love and patience of her incredible new owners, she will live the amazing life she deserves. Each and every foster takes a piece of my heart with them. Live well, be loved, and romp hard with your new doodle brother. I ❤️ you Margot! Once you’ve settled into your new home, Scarlet will come play with you and your brother!! ❤️🐶 #goldendoodle#fostermom#foreverhome
